Amenities

There is both a CoOp Food and a Tesco Express in Stotfold for your day to day needs, with a large Sainsbury’s supermarket in nearby Letchworth for your weekly shop.
For doctors, register with Larksfield Surgery on Arlesey Road (Sat nav: SG5 4HB, call 01462 732200) and for dentists try Stotfold Dental Clinic, on The Avenue (Sat Nav: SG5 4LY call 01462 731938). Both are around half a mile from Ivel Gardens.

Dining

The great thing about a semi-rural location is the number of quality country pubs to choose from, all offering great food. Try the Tudor Oaks Lodge, The Fox and Duck or The White Horse in Arlesey, as well as the Stag and The Chequers nearer to town.
Stotfold is also home to the India Lodge, with Dine Bangla, The Grapevine and Clifton Cusine all close by and highly recommended.

Education

Country locations often lack the kind of schools you’d like for your children, but not Stotfold. Here, the local primary, Roecroft Lower School, is rated outstanding across the board, giving your little ones the very best start in life.
Older pupils have a range of options, with Etonbury Academy in nearby Arlesey and the good rated St Mary’s CofE Academy both easy to reach from Ivel Gardens. For a more vocational approach, The Academy of Central Bedfordshire in Stotfold offers a wide range of work-related courses, while North Hertfordshire College in nearby Letchworth provides further education.
There are a number of universities within commuting distance of the development, for stay at home students who want to cut down on costs, with all the major London and Cambridge colleges also within reach.

Leisure

With so much right on your doorstep, and so many great towns and cities within easy reach, you’ll never be short of something to do in Stotfold. The town is surrounded by great golf courses, including Royston, John o Gaunt and Henlow golf clubs and the magnificent Chesterfield Downs Golf and Country Club. For other sports, check out Pendleton Sports Centre in nearby Arlesey (named after the local Olympic cycling star, Victoria Pendleton) or try Banatyne Health Club in Stotfold town centre.
Film fans will love the glamorous art deco surroundings of Broadway Cinema and Theatre in Letchworth, with multiplex chains also available in all of the surrounding towns.

Shopping

There is a good selection of local shops in the town, including both national names and independents. Letchworth has the Garden Square Shopping Centre, while Stevenage is home to Westgate Shopping. If you prefer out of town shopping, head north to the A1 Retail Park, or check out Letchworth Gateway Retail park to the north of the city.
For a real shopping treat, the flagship stores of Oxford Street and the exclusive boutiques of Mayfair and Kensington are just 40minutes away by train.

Transport

Stotfold lies just two miles from junction 10 of the main arterial route the A1(M), providing easy access to a number of nearby towns and cities to the north and south, and into the heart of London in just 40miles. Letchworth Garden City is just 5miles, Stevenage is 11miles, Bedford is 15miles and Cambridge and Milton Keynes are both around 25miles. The town has a good bus service that reaches as far as Birmingham, Oxford and London.
Direct trains to London can be found at Arlesey Station, just a mile and a half away, with regular services to St Pancras taking under 40minutes. In the other direction, Cambridge is also just a 40minute ride. For trips further afield, London Luton Airport is just 17miles away.
