Dining
There are a number of tasty choices all within easy reach of Yapton, offering everything from casual pub grub to more refined dinging. The Maypole Inn, close to the development, offers a friendly welcome and a varied menu, while the Murrell Arms in Barnham, the Ship and Anchor in Ford, The Cedar Restaurant and the Holly Tree pub in Walberton and the delightful, thatched Oystercatcher in Climping are all well worth the trip.
As you would expect, Bognor Regis has a wide selection of restaurants to cater for the tourist trade, while Chichester raises the bar with fine dining at the likes of Purchases, Cassons and the Potager restaurant.
Education
One of the joys of village life is the local primary school at the heart of the community. Yapton CofE Primary is less than half a mile from Meadow Gardens and is a popular school, which is rated ‘good’ by Ofsted. As an alternative, nearby Barnham Primary is also rated ‘good’.
Older pupils are even better served, with a choice of high quality high schools close by. St Phillip Howard Catholic High is rated ‘outstanding’, while Ormiston Six Villages Academy in Westegate is rated ‘good with outstanding qualities’. Both are just a short bus ride away. Further high school options can be found in Bognor, at Felpham Community College and The Regis School, or in Chichester at Chichester High School.

One of the charms of West Sussex is the unexpected discoveries in local villages, with endless antiques and crafts stores to explore. Barnham Windmill has a fascinating collection of local independent shops, while Yapton and Arundel are a browser’s paradise.
Transport
Yapton is located midway between Portsmouth and Brighton, with the A27 trunk road providing swift access to each in under 45minutes. Arundel is around 4miles, Bognor Regis 6miles, Chichester 9miles and Portsmouth and Brighton are around 25miles.
Rail services along the South Coast can be found at Barnham Station, around 2miles away, with services to Brighton in 40minutes and Portsmouth in 30minutes. The station also offers services to Bognor and Chichester in under 10minutes. If you are heaidng to London, Arundel Station is just over 4miles away, with regular trains to Victoria in just an hour and a half.
For holidays, weekend breaks and business trips, Gatwick is just an hour to the north, while continental ferries can be found at Portsmouth and Southampton.
