About the Development

Nestled between the wide open spaces of the South Downs National Park and Chichester Harbour Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, just a mile east of the city yet on the edge of superb West Sussex countryside, New Fields couldn’t be better placed. Not only does it enjoy a delightful location, it also has everything you need close by, from good and outstanding schools to excellent road and rail connections that link across the south coast from Portsmouth to Brighton and direct to London Victoria.

Coming soon, subject to planning, New Fields will offer a sought-after selection of 2, 3 and 4 bedroom family homes near Chichester from Redrow’s award winning Heritage Collection. Register your interest today and we’ll keep you right up to date as this development progresses and give you the pick of the plots when they are first released. Remember, you only need a 5% deposit to secure your new Redrow home with Help to Buy, and we could help to sell your old home too with our Help to Sell scheme.

Amenities

Sainsbury’s Chichester and the M&S Foodhall at Portfield Retail Park are both conveniently close for both your everyday needs and your larger weekly food shops.
Local doctors can be found at the Cathedral Medical Group on Cawley Road (Sat Nav PO19 1XT, call 01243 813450), with a choice of dentists on The Hornet (Sat Nav PO19 7JG) including The Dental Surgery (01243 771181) and Chichester Dental Studio (01243 679500).

Dining

As you would expect from a city with a strong tourist trade, Chichester has a great selection of restaurants to suit every taste and budget. Trip Advisor lists over 170 places to eat, led by The Old Greenhouse, Ask Italian, Thyme and Chillies, Purchases Bar and Restaurant and Fork & Field. There are also a number of highly recommended gastro pubs in and around the city, including The Partridge Inn in Singleton, The Richmond Arms in West Ashling, The Crate and Apple and The George.
Closer to home, there are a number of family favourites on Portfield Retail Park, including McDonald’s and Pizza Hut.

Education

Chichester has an enviable selection of highly regarded schools in both the public and private sector. Portfield Primary Academy is within walking distance of New Fields, and is rated ‘good’ by Ofsted, with The March CofE Primary also rated ‘good’. A little further away, Jessie Younghusband Primary is rated ‘outstanding’ and is well worth the extra journey time.
Older pupils enjoy just as good a choice and just as high a standard, with Chichester High School, around two miles away, rated ‘outstanding’ and Chichester Free School rated ‘good’.
For independent education, Westbourne House School and Oakwood School both cater for ages 2½ to 13.

Leisure

Both the historic city and the surrounding countryside have lots to offer for your leisure time. Visit the Roman ruins of Fishbourne Palace or the 12th century Chichester Cathedral. Reach for the stars at the South Downs Planetarium and Science Centre, or spend a day at the races at Glorious Goodwood or Fontwell Racecourse, both just a short drive away.
Goodwood is also home to a historic house, two great golf courses and some thrilling motor racing, making it a family favourite for a great day out.
For a day out with a difference, visit a thousand years of history at Arundel Castle, take a river cruise along the Arun or around the harbour, stroll around Bosham Quay or enjoy an invigorating afternoon at Flip trampoline centre.
Chichester offers a choice of culture, with both a multiplex and an arthouse cinema, as well as the Chichester Festival Theatre. The annual Festival of Chichester is a four-week celebration of arts and music, held every summer, while the Sloe Fair visits every October, bringing thrill rides and carnival fun.

Shopping

As an historic walled city, Chichester offers all your shopping needs within convenient walking distance, all centred around The Cross in the centre of the city. You’ll find all the major retailers here, as well as a fascinating range of quirky independent shops and stores tucked away down the side alleys.
There is a general market in the city centre every Wednesday, along with an award-winning farmers’ market on the first and third Friday of every month. The ancient city also makes the perfect setting for a charming Christmas market to end the year.
Closer to home, the Portfield Retail Park is home to the likes of Marks and Spencer and BHS, as well as electrical, DIY and furniture stores.

Transport

The main south coast arterial route, the A27, wraps itself around the city, passing close to the development, and links with the M27, M3 and M275. Chichester city centre is around a mile away with the beaches of Bognor Regis, Selsey and The Witterings around six miles, Portsmouth around 18miles and Brighton and Southampton both around 30miles. The flights of Gatwick Airport are around 45miles away to the north east, or an hour by direct train.
Trains from Chichester Station, less than ten minutes’ drive away, reach Portsmouth in 25minutes and Brighton or Southampton in around 50minutes. There are also direct services to London Victoria, via Gatwick, taking an hour and a half.
