Amenities

There is a CoOp in Goff’s Oak and a Tesco Express close by on the edge of Cuffley for your day to day needs, with larger supermarkets, including Sainsbury’s, in nearby Cheshunt.
Both doctors and dentists can be found at Valley View Health Centre on Goff’s Lane, in Goff’s Oak. Call 01707 875223 for doctors or 01707 870707 for dentists.

Dining

Goff’s Oak has several popular eateries, including The Goff’s Oak gastro pub, Wheelwrights and the Joy Bangla Indian restaurant. The nearby Prince of Wales is also a local favourite. Cuffley is home to Sonar Bangla Tandoori, the Oriental Star and Mumbai Brasserie.
Trip Advisor recommends the Bayleaf restaurant in Whetstone, The Gables in Cheshunt, the Two Brewers in Northaw and the delightfully titled Cheshunt Fishy Delishy.

Education

For a rural village, Goff’s Oak has an excellent choice of local schools for all ages, all rated ‘good’ by Ofsted. Younger pupils can choose between Woodside Primary and Goff’s Oak Primary, both in the village itself, or nearby Cuffley School. Older pupils will have a short bus ride to Cheshunt, where there is a choice of four senior schools, including Goff’s Academy, rated ‘good with outstanding features’, Goff’s Churchgate Academy, Haileybury Turnford and St Mary’s CofE High School.
For higher education, the University of Hertfordshire is within easy reach, along with the many world class establishments of London, giving students the option of studying in the city without struggling with high accommodation costs.

Leisure

With London less than half an hour away by train, the leisure opportunities are endless, with theatres, museums and tourist attractions all within easy reach. But you don’t have to go that far for fun because there’s lots to see and do right on your doorstep. For sports, try the Laura Trott Leisure Centre, which has recently undergone a £4m upgrade, or play a round at the Cheshunt Park Golf Centre. Lea Valley White Water Centre offers a thrilling day out, or you can take a walk on the wild side at Paradise Wildlife Park.
To get out and about, head for River Lee Country Park, Northaw Great Wood or the vast open spaces of Broxbourne Woods national nature reserve.

Shopping

There is plenty of quality shopping available locally, without needing to venture into the city. Cheshunt Pavilions Shopping Centre offers a modern mall, while Brookfield Retail Park provides the convenience of out of town shopping. Enfield also boasts an extensive pedestrianised centre with Palace Gardens and Palace Exchange hosting all your favourite stores.
That said, for a true blow out, London is hard to resist, offering everything from the landmark stores of Oxford Street, to the designer boutiques of Mayfair.

Transport

Goff’s Oak couldn’t be better placed for all types of transport, with road, rail and air all conveniently close. The village lies just off the main A10 arterial route into the capital and just a few minutes away from junction 25 of the M25. London is around 25 miles, St Albans 15 miles, Hertford 10 miles and Cheshunt just 3 miles away.
There is a choice of local stations connecting to the capital, including Cuffley which offers services to Moorgate and Kings Cross (with one change) in 45 minutes and Waltham Cross which will speed you to Liverpool Street in under half an hour.
If you are heading further afield, London Luton Airport is just 40 minutes’ drive with Heathrow less than an hour round the M25.
