The focal-point of North Walsham is the ruined tower of The Church of St Nicholas, which largely collapsed back in 1724. The remains of the old spire have matured into a well-known landmark in the area - a signpost to visitors from surrounding villages who still flock to the town to attend North Walsham's popular Thursday market.

The town has plenty of history: the St Nicholas Church was built on the wealth of 14th century weaving and woollen industries and houses several ancient artefacts. The market square contains the unusually shaped old toll-house known as The Market Cross, which dates back to 1602.

Alongside the market, there are a wealth of permanent traders with shops and businesses of all kinds - ranging from independent specialist stores to well-known larger supermarkets, including Waitrose and Sainbury's. The town's High street is located only 150 metres from the proposed development so you're never far from all of life's necessities, with a nearby post-office, banks, pharmacies and a choice of Doctors' surgeries and dental practices.

North Walsham has some excellent pubs and restaurants to choose from, with many establishments specializing in locally-sourced produce. The town has a popular sports centre, library and community centre, as well as a modern cinema, theatre and arts venue called: The Atrium. North Walsham is surrounded by beautiful countryside and has many popular walking trails. Coastal beaches and resorts - as well as the stunning Norfolk Broads - are all just a 20-minute drive away. North Walsham Train Station provides services to Norwich within 28 minutes and to the Coastal town of Cromer in around 17 minutes.
