In 1910 Gidea Park was conceived by its architects as a showpiece neighbourhood, designed to provide a superior way of living for those escaping the crowded City. Today, with its elegant period houses; wide leafy streets and gorgeous public spaces, Gidea Park remains a shining example of how it should be done.

At McCarthy & Stone we share the same philosophy that excellent design brings a better way of living. That's why we're planning to create a superior range of one and two bedroom apartments - built to our Platinum specification to offer all the space, convenience and luxury you deserve. Every large, bright and airy apartment comes filled with smart, helpful design touches - finished to an exceptional standard and fully decorated in an elegant, contemporary style. You'll find underfloor heating; high-end integrated appliances; a camera-entry system and all the very latest security features included.

Step outside and enjoy the beautiful landscaped gardens - carefully designed to enhance your surroundings with everything perfectly maintained. Then why not visit the comfortable on-site Club Lounge, where you can meet with friends and neighbours to enjoy a chat or plan the day ahead. We'll even provide a little peace of mind with our friendly on-site House-Manager - always happy to offer help and advice should you ever need it.

First conceived as -The Romford Garden Suburb', the prosperous community of Gidea Park sits within the East-London borough of Havering and was built during 1910-11 as an exhibition of progressive town planning. The scheme attracted over a hundred influential architects of the day who left their stamp in the shape of many unique and striking properties.

The area is thoughtfully laid-out with spacious tree-lined roads and lush public parks. Many of the houses were intentionally positioned to offer uninterrupted views over the greenery. The nearby Raphael Park is a fine example, with an attractive lake, pretty walks, a bandstand and sporting areas, including a cricket pitch and tennis courts.

The area is well-served to offer every amenity you could need. There's a pharmacy; convenience store; coffee-house; bank; library and post office - all within easy walking distance of the proposed development - along with three doctors' surgeries and a dental practice, all less than a mile away. There are plenty of excellent pubs and restaurants to sample in Gidea Park and the surrounding area, as well as a variety of shops and services to choose from. More determined shoppers can make the short journey into Romford which is just over two miles away.

Gidea Park railway station is close-by and provides a direct service into London's Liverpool Street station in around 27 minutes. From 2019, the station will be linked to the Crossrail network's Elizabeth Line, which will provide a wider access to the county of Essex, as well as Berkshire and Buckinghamshire.
