Hertford is a historic market town 20 miles north of London. It's a part of East Hertfordshire, which is widely considered as one of the most desirable places in all of the UK. Hertford dates back to the 10th century and has several rivers running through the city.

The town centre today still boasts its medieval layout and is full of charming cobblestone lanes and timber buildings. The remains of the original Hertford Castle is one of the main attractions here, and is located just in front of the development. There are several churches in town, including All Saints' and St Andrew's.

Within walking distance from your front door is Railway Street, where you can the world's oldest purpose-built Quaker Meeting House, which has been in use since 1670. Hertford Museum is also just over the road and is a beautiful 17th century town house with a Jacobean-style garden.
