What Is Help to Buy?

Help to Buy is a government-backed initiative to help people buy a home. It's open to homebuyers (both first-time buyers and home movers) in England who can provide a 5% deposit and is available on homes valued up to £600,000. There are two options - equity share (only available on new build homes).

What Is Part Exchange?

Part Exchange is offered by many housebuilders to help homeowners to buy a new home. Most schemes work by offering a price for your existing home based on an independent valuation - you benefit by having a cash buyer, no onward chain and you can move out of your old home and straight into your new one.

What Is Part Exchange Xtra from Barratt Homes?

Available only through the Barratt Developments group (Barratt Homes and David Wilson Homes), with this initiative the housebuilder initially works with local agents on your behalf to market your existing home and get a fair price for it. If, after a period of time, it hasn't been sold, the company will buy it from you as a Part Exchange on the new home you're buying.
