Situated off Thimbleby Hill, this is a new development in the market town of Horncastle, on the western edge of the Lincolnshire Wolds. With acres of green open space and a tranquil pond on site, Horncastle Rise has all the benefits of country living and yet Lincoln is just 17 miles away.
Horncastle is the antiques hub of Lincolnshire, famed for its numerous outlets specialising in furniture, porcelain, jewellery and books. With over 20 of these shops to visit, it is easy to while away an afternoon in pursuit of a hidden gem.
The historic market town is also brimming with a range of galleries, award winning tea rooms, restaurants and cosy traditional pubs. There are also a growing number of artisan shops offering unique clothing and gifts. And, of course, there is a twice weekly market, as well as a monthly Farmers Market which is the perfect place to pick up fresh local produce.
Other services and amenities are available locally – with excellent schools including one of the finest grammar schools in England, and medical facilities including the War Memorial Hospital, the Horncastle Medical Group and the Horncastle Dental Surgery.
Horncastle is a hub for the InterConnect rural bus service. Regular services run to Lincoln, Skegness and across the Wolds. The A153 joins Horncastle to Louth in the north and Sleaford and Grantham in the south, from where commuters can join the A1 providing easy access to the north and south of England.
The nearby village of Metheringham has a direct rail service to Peterborough on the East Coast main line which has direct trains to London and to Edinburgh.
