How can you make the most of Shared Ownership Week?

Posted 5 October 2015 by Keith Osborne

Today marks the start of Shared Ownership Week 2015, seven days dedicated to promoting the virtues of the government-backed scheme which allows people who wouldn’t be able to afford a suitable home on the open market.

The scheme enables buyers to own a share in their new home and pay a subsidised rent on the remaining share (in fact, it is sometimes referred to as ‘part-buy/part-rent’) and it is available through housing associations and other affordable homes providers across England.

This video gives you some of the basics about the scheme.

Shared Ownership Week runs from 5-11 October 2015. It’s a great opportunity to learn about the scheme, look at some available properties and contact the housing provider to see if you can make that home your own.
