Show home room by room – Kilburn Quarter, South Kilburn
Network Homes has recently launched Kilburn Quarter, an outstanding collection of 126 private one-, two-, three- and four-bedroom apartments and duplexes, creating a new landmark in NW6. A stunning show home has been created by New-id interiors.
Designed by the award-winning Lifschutz Davidson Sandilands and Alison Brooks Architects, homes at Kilburn Quarter are set around a beautifully landscaped, gated courtyard garden, a nod to London’s famous garden squares and parks.
Each home at Kilburn Quarter features a balcony or terrace, while an outstanding interior specification provides buyers the perfect space to call home – in a vibrant area that is in the midst of growth as part of the wider £600m South Kilburn regeneration programme, led by Brent Council. Three underground and overground stations within walking distance ensure easy access across London, with the West End less than 15 minutes away.
Amrit Lattimore, senior designer at New i.d Interiors, has designed three show homes at Kilburn Quarter, one-, two- and three-bedroom apartments. WhatHouse? spoke to her to find out more about the two-bedroom apartment, which has been designed with a young couple in mind.
“I took inspiration from the current trend of using mixed natural materials. For example I have used marbles, coppers, brass and rose golds to complement the softer fabrics.
“Along with a luxury interior, it was vital that the apartment is liveable so the spatial aspect of the design was key, I achieved a good balance by producing CAD drawings and designing bespoke pieces to suit in size."
“The living area uses contrasting materials with rose golds and different tones of greys and blacks, with antique glass creating a fun, eclectic atmosphere. This is softened by the use of silks and floral accents, including Jean Paul Gaultier cushions."
“For the master bedroom, I wanted to create a sense of grandeur, which has been achieved through the use of a striking marble effect feature wall with a large leaning headboard, complemented by the eye catching chandelier. Light silvers and greys have been used to emphasise the sense of space in the room."
“The second bedroom features different shades of navy, with floral accents again in the form of Jean-Paul Gaultier cushions to soften the feel. The overall style and fabric choice here is clean and simple, with a focus on the bedside tables, lamps and retro filament style light fitting to add focal points. Once only seen in bars and restaurants, this exposed style of light is now increasingly popular in the home."
“The bathrooms have been kept simple, with neutral greys and sleek fittings designed to create a hotel-like experience at home. Small touches such as the hammered copper storage pots ensure continuity with the rest of the apartment’s design.”
Prices start at £525,000 for a one-bedroom apartment. To find out more please call Network Homes on 020 3846 8500 or visit www.kilburnquarter.com
