Joint developers Cruden Homes and Places for People have opened their first show flat at The View development in Edinburgh’s dynamic Craigmillar area.
Featuring a bold new look being unveiled for the first time at a Cruden Homes’ development by designers blocc interiors, the two bedroom show flat is already creating a very favourable response from potential buyers.
WhatHouse? spoke to Suzanne Kerley, creative manager of blocc interiors, to find out more about the design of the show flat at The View.
“The key to a successful design is you always need to keep in mind the potential buyer profile. The design needs to create the desire. The View show apartment design needed to be aspirational, yet achievable.”
“Monotone & different metals finishes were big at the recent interiors show. We agreed on a predominantly neutral canvas of white and ivory as a starting point, and then introduced injections of warm copper tones throughout the property with feature wallpaper panels, fabrics, copper coloured accessories, statement artwork and large mirrors to add impact.”
“I feel the kitchen/dining/living room works the best. The layout of the furniture also helps to zone the different living spaces. It demonstrates modern day living and the great open plan space.”
Just before beginning the show flat at The View, Suzanne had been to Maison Objet in Paris, the biggest trade interiors show in Europe, so was full of inspiration and ideas for the show flat. Some of the copper accessories were purchased from suppliers at Maison Objet.
Prices start from just £133,000 for a two-bedroom apartment, however the Help to Buy (Scotland) scheme is available on all properties at The View for settlements from 1 April 2016.
