Record new homes sales for Countrywide

Posted 23 January 2014

Countrywide Land & New Homes, one of the UK's largest new homes agents, has reported a sharp rise in the volume of new homes sales over the past year.

The company reports that it sold in excess of 4,000 new homes during 2013, up 30% year-on-year. The tally represents a record high for the business.

New homes sales have been pushed higher by improving housing market conditions, along with various initiatives, including the government-backed Help to Buy scheme which enables purchasers to acquire a property with a small deposit from as little as just 5%.

"Our record sales levels for 2013 have been stimulated not only by increased demand for new homes driven by government schemes such as Help to Buy, but are also due to the substantial investment we have made in our own marketing presence in order to provide clients with an unrivalled 96% property portal coverage and access to 22,000 homebuyers every week," says James Poynor, managing director of Countrywide Land & New Homes.

He adds: "Clients are recognising the genuine benefits that Countrywide provides through our end-to-end business model, which includes a complete range of property services including the provision of mortgages, conveyancing and surveying services. This structure means that we are able to introduce a larger number of people to the benefits of a new home early on during the buying process, ensuring that real new home buyers do not fall through the net."
