Property Match of the Day – West Ham Utd v Bournemouth

Posted 20 August 2015 by Keith Osborne

If you were earning thousands of pounds a week as a top professional footballer, what kind of new home would you buy? That’s the question the Whathouse.com team has asked itself ahead of the third week of fixtures in the new Premier League season as we look at two teams located in interesting property areas.

In East London, Dimitri Payet signed from Marseille to West Ham United for £12m this summer and is rumoured to be on £70,000 a week – enough to give him an impressive choice of potential new homes to choose from. Proximity to the home ground and training facilities will be important, and within just a short drive from both, Payet and his colleagues can choose from high-rise Docklands apartments with panoramic views, leafy suburban executive homes or a bespoke home in a secluded Essex countryside plot.

Bournemouth’s record signing, Tyrone Mings, arrived from Ipswich Town this summer with an £8m price tag, but has yet to score, the team having lost their first two games without a goal. He’s certainly picked a winner from a property perspective, with delightful coastal resorts and beautiful countryside to choose from, among which is one of the most expensive residential addresses in the world, Sandbanks, on the edge of Poole Harbour.

Here are our suggestions for the best new homes available for these teams’ players right now...

For the West Ham team...

Astwood GateThis is the final one (of three) brand new executive homes left for sale at the exclusive, gated Astwood Gate development on the east London/Essex border, under 20 minutes’ drive from the West Ham training ground. With over 4,200 sq ft of accommodation, this detached property’s living space flows from a central entrance hall, with a formal dining room, spacious sitting room, a TV room and the impressive kitchen/breakfast/family room which opens out through bi-fold doors onto the rear patio.
