Help to Buy launches at Hoover Building development

The government-backed Help to Buy scheme has now launched at the development converting the Grade II* listed Hoover Building in West London into Art Deco-inspired new homes. Some 26 studio, one-, two- and three-bedroom properties will be available under the scheme, with prices that start from £295,000.

Developer IDM Properties is transforming the listed 1930s former factory in Perivale into 66 apartments laid out over four floors at the front of the original building. Interiors have been designed to complement the iconic Art Deco architecture, with each apartment having plenty of natural light and space. Many original features have been retained, including the distinctive Crittall windows, wrought-iron banisters, travertine marble floors, and original lights and lifts.

Jonathon Curtis, a partner of IDM Properties, says: “The launch of Help to Buy at the Hoover Building represents an excellent opportunity for first time buyers. We believe that we have managed to create something very special at The Hoover Building, combining the original Art Deco architecture with modern, stylish design.  Each apartment offers a unique opportunity for people to live in one of London’s most famous Art Deco landmarks. We believe that the homes are competitively priced for such an iconic building and have already had huge amounts of interest from potential buyers looking to own their little slice of history.”

This development is ideally located for London workers looking for an affordable home, with Perivale’s Central Line station only a six-minute walk away, with journey times of 19 minutes to Notting Hill,  27 minutes to Oxford Circus and 36 minutes to Bank.
