Armed Forces Day discount in Bristol this weekend

Members of Britain’s armed forces looking for a brand new homes are being offered a substantial discount by Barratt Homes at developments around Bristol this Saturday to those serving in the army, Royal Navy or RAF.

With 24 June designated Armed Forces Day, the national housebuilder is giving these buyers £500 off for every £25,000 they spend on a home, up to a maximum of £5,000 (on homes of £250,000 or above). It's a scheme that is available all year round, but the event has been arranged in order to highlight it on this annual occasion.

“We are proud of the homes we offer here in Bristol - and we are equally as proud of our armed forces,” says Barratt’s regional sales director Andrea Pilgrim, “so we are thrilled to offer military service men and women a special deal when they buy one of our homes. The discount also applies to anyone set to retire from the forces this year - and they will remain eligible for up to 12 months from the date they retire.”

Among the Barratt Homes developments currently active in and around Bristol are Lyde Green in Emersons Green, St Matthias in Broomhill, Autumn Brook in Yate, Charlton Hayes in Patchway and Bilbie Green in Keynsham.

“As a company, we are keen to help many people who serve in the Armed Forces move into a great new home in or around Bristol,” adds Pilgrim. “Our team at Barratt is strongly supportive of the work our troops do in unimaginably hostile war zones. In our own very small way, we hope that this offer shows that we’re backing our words with actions.”

Launch for a new development in Liverpool this Saturday

Regency ManorWhatHouse? Award winner Redrow Homes will be launching its latest new homes in Liverpool on Saturday 24 June, at it opens the doors to Regency Manor in West Derby. Regency Manor will offer two-, three-, four- and five-bedroom properties on the former site of re-located Holly Lodge Girls’ College.

Around 200 people attended a preview event for this development recently to take a look at the plans for the scheme, which will include home styles from Redrow’s Regency Collection, with 51 such properties planned to complement nine refurbished homes in Grade II listed building on the site.

Sales director Claire Jarvis was delighted by the reaction of those who have already seen the plans, saying: “The huge number of people who attended the preview event indicates just how popular Regency Manor is going to be. Although we weren’t taking reservations on the day, those who were there were able to arm themselves with information about the development and the styles of the homes, ready for when we open the doors to the sales office.”

Regency Manor is the latest scheme attributed to the Liverpool Housing Partnership, a collaboration between Redrow, Liverpool City Council and Liverpool Mutual Homes. This joint venture sees income from these private-sale new homes subsidise new or refurbished affordable homes for the city.

Surrounded by good local amenities, schools and colleges, Regency Manor is just over three miles from Liverpool’s city centre, renowned for its collection of shops, bars and restaurants.

A new show home is unveiled at Sandbach development

Miller Homes has opened its latest show home in the North West of England at its Heathlands development in Sandbach in Cheshire, with a four-bedroom ‘Rolland’ house type now open for visitors to view.

“Moving up another floor to the master bedroom, we find a beautiful king size bed with a luxurious quilted headboard which adds a sense of elegance to the space.  The built-in mirrored wardrobe is a classic choice for a suite bedroom and the subtle colour scheme creates a relaxing atmosphere especially as it is so light and airy.”
