It's election week, but if you're after a brand new home, take a look at our round-up of launches, offers and events around the UK...

Election day may grab the headlines, but for house-hunters, the priority is surely still securing the new home they want. We focus on events and launches taking place at new homes developments across the UK this weekend…

Moving Made Easy at West Sussex development

Millwood Designer Homes is now offering homeowners looking to upgrade to a new home at its Standgrove Field development in Ardingly, West Sussex an easier option thanks to its Moving Made Easy scheme, which embraces options such as part exchange and assisted sale to make the moving process more certain and hassle-free.

Philip Brown, the WhatHouse? Award-winning housebuilder’s sales director, remarks: “When it comes to selling a property, as the chain forms, the chances of a delayed or broken link unfortunately creates uncertainty and stress for homebuyers. By offering Moving Made Easy at Standgrove Field, we hope potential purchasers will make the most of this extremely helpful scheme in order to make the home-buying and selling process a much smoother one.”

Standgrove Field comprises 36 semi-detached and detached houses, with a collection of three-, four- and five-bedroom properties, nestled in the heart of Sussex’s High Weald, a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB). As well as this delightful countryside on the doorstep, these homes also benefit from the top-ten rated public school of Ardingly College, for children aged two to 18, being situated opposite the development, major plus for some family homebuyers.

Prices here currently start from £594,950 for a four-bedroom home and from £924,950 for a five-bedroom property. A show home is open to view

Mastermove event to attract buyers to Kent development this Saturday

The ParsonageHouse-hunters in the Marden area of Kent, just south of Maidstone, are invited to The Parsonage this Saturday 10 June by housebuilder Redrow Homes to find out more about its Mastermove scheme, introduced to assist buyers with a home to sell.

“Mastermove is the perfect solution for those who need to sell so that they can buy a bigger or better home, more suitable for their needs,” says Rachael Baillie, sales director for Redrow Homes (South East). “We’ll work with customers to help them sell quickly and simply, usually at full market value by working with tried and trusted local agents. We’ll even cover some of the agent’s fees to enable sellers to become buyers and move to a brand new Redrow home at their earliest convenience.”

When a buyer finds the Redrow home they want, the housebuilder arranges two or three valuations of the customer’s existing home and then agree a price at which to sell the home. One agent is then instructed to sell it, and Redrow will make a contribution to the agent’s fees.

The Parsonage offers a choice of three-, four- and five-bedroom designs available in the Kent village location, with prices starting from £369,995. The event takes place between 10.00am and 5.30pm, the daily opening times of the marketing suite and show homes.

Help to Buy brings overnight queues to London Square Isleworth scheme

London Square IsleworthThe launch event for the government-backed Help to Buy scheme at London Square Isleworth in the London Borough of Hounslow drew big crowds at the end of May, with over 50 people queuing before the 11.00am start to secure the home they wanted.

With 90% of the 162 apartments at the site already reserved, 28 plots in just one block from the multi-award-winning developer were taken under the Help to Buy London initiative that gives buyers with a 5% deposit a 40% equity loan.

Amandeep Sonik and her partner Arin Bhalsod were the first in line, from 3.30am, and they reserved a two-bedroom property, with Amandeep saying: “It was very tiring but equally exciting to secure our first home, while also giving us a chance to meet our potential new neighbours. I can’t wait until December to move in.”

Prices of currently available apartments start at £440,000, with the development bringing a mix of one-, two- and three-bedroom units with a luxury specification inclusing underfloor heating and a private balcony, terrace or winter garden. The first residents are already at home there.

Last few homes available at Salisbury scheme from Barratt Homes

With just five of 266 units left for sale at its Riverdown Park development in Bishopdown, a northern suburb of Salisbury, Wiltshire, Barratt Homes is giving house-hunters in the region notice that there are limited opportunities to secure a property at this popular site, launched just three years ago.

A wide variety of new homes have been built at this development, from one-bedroom apartments to large executive homes, and it is three- to five-bedroom family homes that are the last available. The homes are set out on a site connected through footpaths and cycleways and with a 55-acre country park planned to open on the doorstep, ideal for family life. Prices for the five remaining properties start from £274,995 for a three-bedroom home to £564,000 for the last five-bedroom home. Help to Buy is available.

Lynnette St Quintin, sales director for Barratt Southern Counties, says: “Riverdown Park has been a hugely successful development, attracting everyone from families, to young professionals, investors and downsizers and we are thrilled to see the community continue to develop and thrive. With only a handful of homes now remaining, we would urge any potential buyers to come and view the homes and see what is on offer.”

Buyers invited to consider off-plan purchasing at Bedford scheme

With over half the current phase of homes already sold without a show home being yet open, Storey Homes is inviting more buyers to look at homes at its De Montford Place development in Bedford at the off-plan stage.

The development will complete with 152 contemporary properties, ranging from one-bedroom apartments to five-bedroom houses. In the first phase, there are now only 20 apartments and three homes available left for sale. The show home is still a way from completion, expected in September, whith the housebuilder preparing for more of its ‘wellie-on tours’ around the site this summer to give potential buyers a look at plans and how the site is progressing.

Katy Jordan, managing director of Storey Homes, says: “We have had a lot of interest both from local buyers and those commuters who want a more affordable home from outside London. More homebuyers are buying off-plan and our tours are proving popular, enabling them to visualise plot layouts and get an idea of the space we have to offer. It is definitely worth seeing what you can buy for your money here, especially as research says property prices are only on the up.”

Prices at De Montford Place currently start at £185,000 for a one-bedroom apartment and £225,000 for a two-bedroom apartment.
