News in brief from the new homes scene, Week 18 2017

Posted 4 May 2017 by Keith Osborne

Our weekly look at news from across new homes developments over the UK, with special interest in what is happening over the next few days...

We look into some of the launches, events and offers currently happening in the new homes market across the UK…

New release of apartments in Luton soon available off-plan

From Saturday 6 May, a new release of apartments at the Napier Park development will be available off-plan, a great chance for ‘early-bird’ buyers and buy-to-let investors to secure the plots they want at the site.

The Eaton Apartments, park of Eaton Green Heights, comprise 16 homes, with a variety of one- and two-bedroom options in the four-storey building, each with private parking. Prices will be announced on launch day. At a later date, three- and four-bedroom houses will be released at the development.

Kerry McCoubrey, sales director for Redrow Homes (Eastern), says: “The regeneration of this part of Luton is a real positive for the whole town and people are understandably curious about the progress of the wider development. The list of potential purchasers is growing rapidly and in response to demand we’ve decided to release the Eaton Apartments off-plan via our nearby Caddington Woods development. It’s perfect for those who want to live close to the town centre and commuters who want to live conveniently close to London without the hefty price tag that properties in the capital command.”

Buyers invited to register interest in luxury new homes in Buckinghamshire

Nightingale PlaceHouse-hunters looking for a luxury home in rural Buckinghamshire will have even more this summer, when CALA Homes releases its five-bedroom homes at Nightingale Place in Haddenham, and potential buyers are now invited to register their interest with the former WhatHouse? Housebuilder of the Year.

Nightingale Place will comprise just 17 high-specification five-bedroom homes in a village just a few miles from Aylesbury and Oxford and with a station of its own (Haddenham and Thame Parkway) with services into London Marylebone, as well as a number of schools to satisfy family buyers.

Helen Colman, sales and marketing director for CALA Homes (Chiltern), says: “Nestled in the heart of Haddenham, Nightingale Place will impress any growing family with excellent schooling and strong transport links to both Birmingham and London right on the doorstep.  With the market buoyant and demand in the area high, we’d urge anyone interested in making a move to their dream new home to get in touch now as we have already received a substantial amount of enquiries about this development.”

New five-bedroom homes released at flagship development at Newbury

David Wilson Homes has now unveiled a range of five-bedroom executive homes at its Newbury Racecourse development in Berkshire, providing even more choice for property seekers in the area.

With apartments and townhouses already on the market there, the development alongside one of the UK’s prime horse racing venues will soon have some even larger homes, with excellent views to complement the interior specification and contemporary design.

Jackie Dowell, sales manager at David Wilson Homes Southern, says: “We are delighted to announce that we will now be able to cater for larger families at our flagship development. These prestigious homes will feature vast amounts of space that appeal to each member of the family, with large living areas that are great for socialising. For those who are interested in the five bedroom homes, I advise them to visit the marketing suite onsite to find out more about what The Chase has to offer.”

New penthouses now available at Bristol conversion

Huller & CheeseA collection of waterside penthouses has been released at a landmark conversion project in Bristol, giving home-hunters in the popular city some new options for luxury two- and three-bedroom living in a prime position at the Grade II listed Huller & Cheese development.

Buy-to-let investors may also be interested in these high-end homes, as Savills has predicted rents in Bristol rising around 19% over the next five years.

Hina Coppack, sales and marketing executive at developer Generator says: “Bristol is a hugely attractive place to live and its many pull factors mean its future will continue to be bright. Huller & Cheese in particular benefits from a first-class location and it is rare to find properties of this quality directly overlooking the waterside, especially those offering three bedrooms. Investors will not only have a large pool of potential tenants but will also benefit from reliable yields of around 3%. Buyer interest in Huller & Cheese has been strong and there are now only four penthouses remaining for sale, so we would urge investors to take a look now before it is too late.”

Close to the city centre and waterside, the penthouses at Huller & Cheese start at £725,000.

North London sees the opening of a new show home and marketing suite in one of its most coveted areas today as developer Mount Anvil invites house-hunters to register their interest in Hampstead Manor, NW3.

The Hampstead Manor development will mix refurnished and converted listed buildings with complementary new build homes on a site with a fascinating history. In all, 156 new residences will be built on the site, a mix of luxury apartments and executive houses, ranging from studios to extensive five-bedroom villas.

The site was the home of Westfield College, a women's educational institution founded in 1882 by Constance Louise Maynard and Ann Dudin Brown, the first of its kind in an era when women were generally  deterred from intellectual betterment. All residents at the new development will benefit from a 24-hour concierge service and communal facilities including landscaped gardens, a spa, gym, swimming pool and sauna. Secure underground parking is also available.

The launch event takes place on Thursday 4 May from 6.00pm to 8.00pm at the site on Kidderpore Avenue.

Work starts on first development for new Midlands housebuilder

A brand new housebuilding company has started work on its first new homes project at a site in Tiddington, close to Stratford-upon-Avon, where it will create 32 new homes on the edge of the Warwickshire village.

Hayfield Homes, run by former directors of respected housebuilders Banner Homes (taken over a few years ago by CALA Homes), is relocating the Tiddington Home Guard Club from its location on Main Street to a new £1.5m purpose-built site as part of the project.
