This week brings more new homes launches, special events and offers at developments all over the UK...

Here are some of the latest stories of interest to buyers of new build homes around the country, including development launches, special offers and events…

Three launches in Kent this month from Millwood Designer Homes

WhatHouse? Award-winning Millwood Designer Homes is making major moves in the Garden of England in March with the launch of three separate developments with its Kent Collection of homes in Marden (Windsor Meadow), Sutton Valence (The Old Orchard) and the Loose Valley (Brambledown).

“At Millwood, we are passionate about delivering homes that are in context with their attractive surroundings,” says Philip Brown, sales director at the housebuilder. “The Kent Collection is an exciting project and each development offers something slightly different to appeal to a wide range of buyers. The locations combine semi-rural living whilst being within close proximity to the vibrant towns of Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells. On Saturday 25 March, the Kent Collection will be released for sale at the collection’s sales centre at Windsor Meadow, Marden.”

With properties ranging from chalet bungalows to terraced homes, semi-detached and spacious detached homes, these three developments will combine the county vernacular of traditional home styles and materials with the very latest expectations of new homes buyers. Prices start at £315,000 at Brambledown, £320,000 at Windsor Meadow and £465,000 at The Old Orchard.

New Shared Ownership properties for sale in Chelmsford

BeaulieuEast Thames Group is introducing a first range of Shared Ownership properties at Beaulieu, the popular new neighbourhood under construction in Chelmsford at an event taking place at the site between 11.00am to 4.00pm on Saturday 25 March.

These new properties will be able to be purchased by homebuyers subject to terms and conditions with a possible minimum share of 25%. Buyers can choose from a range of 13 one- and two-bedroom apartments and two-bedroom houses so suit their needs, with those living or working in the Essex city.

Prices start at just £55,625 for the homes for a quarter share (£222,500 market value), with purchasers paying a subsidised rent for the remainder and able to buy further shares when they can. All homes come with fitted kitchens and appliances, stylish new bathrooms, built-in wardrobes in bedroom

Tony Harker, East Thames’ director of sales and marketing, says: “Following the success of our recent St John’s Court scheme, we’re now offering the opportunity to buy in another of the town’s vibrant new developments, for less. We advise purchasers to register their interest as soon as possible in order to avoid disappointment.”

Final discounted property now for sale at North Berwick development

With 11 of 12 discounted three-bedroom homes at its Mains Farm development in North Berwick now sold, Cruden Homes is now inviting applications for the final property, which is now for sale at £159,600, 33% lower than the full market value of the home.

The ‘Puffin’ house type is located of Grange Road in the East Lothian town, and invitations are open to those who qualify for the criteria established by the local council. Primarily, buyers should be looking for a family home but be unable to afford a suitable one at the full price. The home comes with a fitted kitchen, turfed garden and plenty of storage.

Hazel Davies, sales and marketing director at Cruden Homes, says: “The discounted for sale scheme offers a welcome opportunity for qualified applicants to secure a quality family home in an area that is traditionally, notoriously expensive to buy. With only one property currently remaining for sale within the scheme, I would urge interested parties to get in touch with the selling agents quickly to avoid possible disappointment”.

Just one plot left on early release phase of Nottinghamshire development

Pentrich FieldsWith advanced sales surpassing the expectations of housebuilder Peter James Homes and its selling agent William H Brown, only one home of the first phase at Pentrich Fields in Giltbrook, Nottinghamshire, remains for sale.

When completed, the scheme will bring 91 new homes to the village, which is about 10 miles north-west of Nottingham and on the eastern outskirts of Eastwood. Buyers have a choice of two-, three- and four-bedroom house types, with two-bedroom homes from £158,500, three-bedroom houses from £182,000 and four-bedroom properties from £247,500. Help to Buy is available and a big attraction to the first buyers at the development.

The first buyers are looking to move in to their new property in mid-September. A show home is due to open in July.

“We are delighted with the sales rate at Pentrich Fields,” says Daniel Bishop from William H Brown. “We knew the development would be popular as Peter James Homes properties are well-known for their unique designs and quality builds, but pre-sales have surpassed even our expectations. The first sales phase is almost sold out and several early bird reservations have already been taken on later stages.”

Help to Buy event at Reading scheme this weekend

New homes have been coming to Kennet Island in the south of Reading, Berkshire for around ten years, and there are still new phases and an appealing range of new properties being built. This weekend’s Help to Buy event gives homebuyers in the area a chance to find out more about the government initiative that requires them to provide only a 5% deposit on their new property.

Taking place at the marketing suite from 10.00am to 5.00pm this Saturday 25 March, the event is a chance to see the current range of one-, two- and three- bedroom properties for sale (priced from £249,950), and speak to the Berkeley Homes team as well as an independent financial adviser about your options for mortgages with the Help to Buy scheme. A show home is also open.

The development is only three miles from Reading town centre and its station (where Crossrail will be running from 2019) and just five minutes’ drive from the M4.

Show home up for sale at Newton Mearns development

Castle GroveDeveloper Mactaggart & Mickel Homes has put the show house at its Castle Grove development in Newton Mearns up for sale. The ‘Spence’ home is a five-bedroom property that has been professionally fitted by renowned Edinburgh-based interior designer Gerry Burke, with an Art Deco influence to the generously sized house.

Burke says: “I always enjoy working on show homes as I am the first person to get my hands on the interiors and the ‘Spence’ was a blank canvas I could really go to town with. It is a magnificent home with stunning 2.7m-high ceilings on the ground floor – quite unusual  for a new-build property. While the rooms are large enough to take bold colours and patterns, I decided on a more neutral approach to let the features really shine through. I used a soft background, with shots of colour to add depth.”

Castle Grove is just 20 minutes from Glasgow city centre and within easy reach of a number of excellent schools, including Mearns Castle High School, St Ninian’s High School and Williamwood High School. The development is open Thursday to Monday, 10.30am to 4.30pm.
