News in brief from the new homes scene, Week 11 2017

Posted 16 March 2017 by Keith Osborne

This week's short new homes stories come from across the country, including Dorset, London, Oxfordshire, Warwickshire, Norfolk, North Yorkshire and Scotland...

With this year’s Spring Budget having no direct mention of the housing industry, the property market had nothing to to affect it and there is still plemnty going on around the country in the new homes sector…

New apartments and penthouses available at Norwich development

Around half the new homes at a new waterside development in Norwich, Norfolk, have already been sold, and the agent looking after sales at The Bridge believes the contemporary design of the scheme will attract buyers moving from London to the rest of the properties for sale.

Bidwell’s partner Marc Langdon says of the former car park site: “This is an exciting decade for Norwich and its long-term regeneration plan is exceptional.  What is happening in Norwich, mirrors what happened in Cambridge 10 years ago; the market is growing due to the university, research park and large companies, such as Aviva and Virgin Money, moving to the city. Infrastructure is also improving, with plans to make travelling to London even faster. There is definitely a youthful and vibrant feel about the place.”

Many of the remaining 26 apartments and five penthouses at The Bridge are ready for occupation now, with views over the River Wensum and the cityscape. Prices start at £185,000 for a one-bedroom home and £212,500 for a two-bedroom home.

Edward Orr, director at developer Generator Group, says: “We have seen great interest so far with many plots being sold off-plan. We urge anyone interested in investing in this up-and-coming city to visit our show home and see for themselves the quality of our homes.”
