New homes launched in Burton-on-Trent

Housebuilder Morris Homes has launched a selection of new two- and three-bedroom homes at its Paget Green development Burton-Upon-Trent.

The two-bedroom Budworth and three-bedroom Chatsworth properties are in the early stages of the build process, and buyers looking to acquire one of the homes at this stage will have to commit to buying off plan.

Although some purchasers are deterred from the idea of buying property off plan, in case the developer runs into financial difficulties and the properties are not built, the reality is that the risks are relatively low. What's more, those who buy off plan have are generally offered the opportunity to personalise their home by choosing elements including the style of their kitchen and the colour of the bathroom tiles.

The new homes at Paget Green are priced from £129,750, or from £103,800 with Help to Buy which is available at the development. The government backed scheme can make it easier for buyers to get onto, or move up, the property ladder, as it allows purchasers to acquire a new home with a deposit of just 5% of the property. They are then supported by the government, which provides a 20% equity loan that is interest free for the first five years of the loan.

Cindy Cade, regional sales director at Morris, said: "Paget Green has proved popular with buyers and it's great that they will be able to purchase these new homes by taking advantage of the Help to Buy scheme. Saving for large deposits is often the biggest hurdle that potential buyers face, but the scheme offers a helping hand onto the property ladder by removing this obstacle."
