Regeneration, plenty of culture and incredible architecture, Glasgow is a popular commuter hub...

Glasgow is a city steeped in history, known for its incredible architecture and cultural attractions, so it’s no wonder Glasgow is a popular area for those looking for new homes.

A £280m regeneration project, Transforming Communities, is a partnership between the city council, the Scottish government and Glasgow Housing Association. Over the last five years, vacant areas have been transformed into new housing developments,

As the largest city in Scotland, Glasgow is, unsurprisingly, very well-connected. Glasgow Central and Glasgow Queen Street, offering regular high-speed services to London Euston, Edinburgh, Dundee and Aberdeen, are the two main stations. Edinburgh can be reached in 51 minutes, with a monthly season ticket price of £219.30 and annual ticket costing £2,284. The fastest journey time to London Euston is 4hr 28.

Glasgow also has an underground metro system, making travel around the city very straightforward, and three international airports within 45 minutes travel. For road users, the M8 passes through the city centre and offers connections to the M73, M77 and M80.

Glasgow has a huge retail centre, with something for everyone, from popular high street stores and designer outlets, to unique, vintage boutiques. Glasgow hosted the 2014 Commonwealth Games, and sports fans will be impressed by the facilities. Glasgow is home to the Chris Hoy Velodrome, Hampden Park, a national football stadium, and even an indoor snowboard and ski slope.

Glasgow was the UK’s first UNESCO City of Music, with around 130 music events going on every week, catering for all tastes, ideal for all music lovers. There are numerous museums and galleries throughout the city, many of which are free to the public.
