WhatHouse? Awards 2015 winners – Berkeley Homes (South East London), Best Interior Design

Posted 25 November 2015 by Keith Osborne

Berkeley Homes has continued its WhatHouse? Award-winning tradition at its flagship central London development...

Berkeley Homes is a perennial winner at the WhatHouse? Awards and the Bronze received from David Walliams by its South East London team in the Best Interior Design category this year continues that trend.

The development at One Tower Bridge is one of the most talked-about in the whole of London, and it has had enormous success in attracting buyers from the all over the world, including those in London who are looking for an iconic address and world-class location.

WHA 2015 Judges Report coverSituated next to the Thames and, of course, the globally recognised structure of Tower Bridge, the inside of these prestige homes must match the lifestyle aspirations of buyers as much as their location – and that’s exactly what they’ve achieved in the eyes of the expert WhatHouse? judging panel.

Jacob Suillivan, head of sales and marketing for Berkeley Homes (South East London), says: “We are very pleased to have won a WhatHouse? Award for interior design at our flagship riverside development, One Tower Bridge. We are extremely proud of the quality of interiors on this development, and this award emphasises our commitment to superior design.”

The WhatHouse? Awards judges said of the company’s achievement:

“It would be so easy for Berkeley Homes to rest on its many laurels but it has really pushed the boat out at its latest London scheme and used the cartouches from its neighbour, London landmark Tower Bridge, to create a distinctive identity for the development – and what an identity.

“The elegant art deco glamour with bespoke parquet floors and burnished bronze lifts with handmade panels inlaid with bronze, created in Nottingham and a nod to traditional craftsmanship.

“Another very special touch is the book matched marble floor leading into the apartments; the design is mirrored on the ceiling and a panelled wall creates a vision of opulence. The theme is carried through into the bathrooms – the wooden laminated bath is especially amazing. As well as the interior design of the apartments, there is incredible attention to detail in the communal areas.

“Once again, Berkeley Homes has raised the bar on giving a development the wow factor.”
