Spitfire unveils Cotswold Collection homes at Stow-on-the-Wold

Posted 7 December 2016 by Keith Osborne

A new range of stylish house types is being marketed in Gloucestershire by the recently crowned WhatHouse? Best Small Housebuilder 2016...

WhatHouse?’s Best Small Housebuilder is certainly not short of ambition, as its new development Crossways shows, highlighting a brand new collection of house types for a series of developments in the Cotswolds Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

Just last month, Spitfire went one better than its 2015 Silver at the WhatHouse? Awards with Gold at the 2016 edition of the housebuilding industry’s most coveted awards event.

The WhatHouse? Awards judges said: “Spitfire chooses its materials with great care, appropriate to location and vernacular but with an overarching design flair to ensure its homes really are bespoke. Sustainability and customer care are also core beliefs and strengths.”

The Cotswolds Collection looks to combine modern homebuyers’ expectations of layout and specification with exterior design that complements the existing properties surrounding the development, whose characteristics are very much part of the visual appeal of this glorious part of the South West.

Moreover, with prices starting at £445,000 for the cottages at Crossways, there’s an opportunity for buyers to acquire their own slice of this beautiful area for considerably less than the average, which agent Jackson-Stops & Staff’s research shows as being over £625,000.

Mark Johnson, partner at Knight Frank, says: “Spitfire is known for creating luxury homes in some of the UK’s most desirable locations, that reflect the local character and ambience. Crossways is a perfect example of this, marrying the unique Cotswolds architectural style with their signature bespoke interiors.”

Crossways comprises 20 three- and four-bedroom located in the heart of the pretty town of Stow-on-the-Wold, the highest in the Cotswolds, with house types and materials chosen to fit in to the local vernacular. Inside, buyers can expect to find individually designed, hand-painted solid oak kitchens complete with quartz worktops, glass splashbacks, and Siemens integrated appliances; Villeroy & Boch sanitaryware and Hansgrohe fittings in bathrooms and en suites; and Draks built-in wardrobes to master bedrooms. Every property also has parking space for two cars, within a timber-clad car barn.

Stow-on-the-Wold has a great mix of shops, cafés, pubs and restaurants, and from its hilltop position offers delightful views of the surrounding landscape. Within easy reach are a number of state and private schools for children of all ages, perfect for family house-hunters looking for new build homes in Gloucestershire.

Crossways is just an 11-minute drive from Moreton-in-Marsh train station, with a journey time of around 90 minutes to London Paddington.
