South West New Homes Round-up

Posted 23 March 2020

The WhatHouse? team looks at the latest range of new build properties for sale in Cornwall, Devon, Dorset, Wiltshire and Somerset...

Figures from the Office for National Statistics (ONS) show that house prices have risen in every UK region for the first time in almost two years, as optimism returns amongst buyers and sellers. In the South West, prices leapt up by 2.2 per cent in December compared with the previous year.

And these figures cover a period from before the latest optimistic reports from lenders and estate agents who are describing a boost in confidence amongst buyers and sellers over recent weeks.

With plenty for prospective buyers to feel positive about, we've put together a fresh selection of new housing developments across the South West, including schemes in Somerset, Wiltshire, Gloucestershire, Devon, Dorset and Cornwall.

Church Farm in Rode near Bradford-on-Avon, Somerset (Autograph Homes Ltd)

Combining traditional craftsmanship with contemporary interior designs and outstanding specifications as standard, the homes at Church Farm offer a rural village lifestyle close to Bradford-on-Avon and Frome, both of which are about five miles away. The development, which has some shared ownership options, is also situated within reasonable commuting distance of Bath (12 miles away), Chippenham (16 miles) and Bristol (22 miles). Built using local materials and stone, there are individually designed two-, three-, four- and five-bedroom country homes to suit different priorities and budgets, all fitting seamlessly into the surrounding landscape and existing local architecture. Rode is a thriving village with a couple of great pubs, a lovely cafe within the Post Office, and a chocolate factory. The surrounding area is home to attractions such as The Tithe Barn, a National Heritage property, in Bradford-on-Avon, and wonderful markets and cultural events in Frome. The countryside offers endless opportunities for beautiful walks, cycling and other outdoor pursuits, and families will love Longleat, the UK's number one safari park, as well as the elegant architecture and historical sights of Bath. Prices: Properties will be released over time.

Current availability ranges in price from £205,000 (for a 50% share of a three-bed end of terrace cottage) to £690,000 (for a four-bed family home).
