Show home room by room - Paddington Exchange, London

Posted 21 December 2016 by Ben Salisbury

Paddington Exchange is a stunning new apartment complex in London from Taylor Wimpey Central London featuring a design with views across London's skyline

Paddington Exchange, by Taylor Wimpey Central London, has launched its first show home. The development, comprising a collection of 123 contemporary, one, two and three-bedroom apartments, will welcome its first residents later this year.

Due for full completion in early 2017, Paddington Exchange provides a window of opportunity to find a home in this burgeoning part of London – ahead of the opening of Crossrail at Paddington in 2018.

The development, by Assael Architecture and Powell Dobson, comprises three stepped pavilions of stone brickwork and glass ranging from 10 - 14 storeys high. Each stylish residence has been thoughtfully designed, maximising space and light with floor to ceiling windows and doors which lead onto a terrace or balcony, with views across the London skyline.

Residents will also benefit from amenities including a fully equipped gym, 24-hour concierge service, secure underground parking as well as electric car charging points.

Location

Paddington Exchange sits close to one of London’s well-loved waterways, boasts close proximity to Little Venice, the picturesque village where Regent’s Canal and Grand Union Canal meet, and neighbours Hyde Park to the south and Regent’s Park to the east.

The development is a short walk from Paddington station, one of central London’s most integral transportation hubs. Its residents will benefit from excellent underground and National Rail connections, in Zone 1, with direct trains from Paddington through to Heathrow airport – ideal for those with international business or who are regular travellers.

Prices start from £975,000. For more information, please visit www.paddingtonexchange.co.uk or call Taylor Wimpey Central London on 020 3866 0934.

Spacious and light

The new show home at Paddington Exchange has been designed to reflect what living in one of London’s most well-connected and vibrant places is truly like.

Capturing the subtleties of British eccentricity through a modern take on art deco, the home draws upon key features of its Paddington location – an inner city hub distinguished by water ways and connections that span across the entire country.

Paddington Exchange also offers a number of communal spaces including the residents’ terrace on the sixth floor – an enviable addition to a city residence - and a landscaped garden with spectacular views of the London skyline.

Darren McCormack, sales and marketing director at Taylor Wimpey Central London, said: “Paddington Exchange is one of London’s most well-connected and vibrant places to live and work. Crossrail is going to make a major impact too. A recent report from JLL indicated that property prices will increase by 15.4% by the time it is fully in service in Paddington in 2020 - this is an ideal time to buy in a prospering opportunity area.”

Created by Accouter Design, the three bedroom show home captures the subtleties of British eccentricity through a modern take on art deco.

Living area: "Amid a natural base palette of creams and greys, the interior integrates an opulence of striking bold colours of teal, blue and gold – which punctuate the residence throughout. Bespoke upholstery and artworks are complemented by hand-picked statement pieces. Tactile materials such as velvet, cotton and mohair have been used to evoke the sense of warmth and comfort. Indoor foliage throughout provides an organic element to the home."

A bespoke kitchen: "Designed to meet the needs of 21st century living, the home features a bespoke kitchen with fully integrated Siemens and Bosch appliances, timber flooring, comfort cooling and underfloor heating."

Master bedroom: “A calming ambience has been created in each of the bedrooms, with threads of colour that seamlessly extend into the rooms from the living and dining areas. The boldest feature in the master bedroom is the teal bedframe – focusing attention on the function of the room, while all other aspects of the interior are of calmer tones.”

Foyer: “We have introduced a number of dramatic artworks to the reception in order to make the most of this truly spacious entrance. The space is transformed from a formal zone into a place where guests of the home are encouraged to pause and enjoy the works, rather than see the room as a simple thoroughfare.”
