A second release of new homes with numerous eco features has been unveiled at a development on the edge of the UK's most dramatic National Park...

Following a sell-out in a week for the first phase on the 19-unit Viver Green development of luxury family eco-homes, developer eggHomes has released a second phase of four- and five-bedroom properties with a host of sustainability features.

Located within ten minutes’ drive of Oxenholme and Kendal stations, on the edge of the Lake District National Park, Viver Green’s homes are designed to minimise their environmental effect and contain some of the very latest energy-efficiency technology as well as the UK’s fastest broadband.

The properties use the strongest insulating concrete framework currently on the market which not only offers durability, but also high levels of thermal and sound insulation and fire safety. They are also fitted with triple glazing solar panels and intelligent controls, as well as “game-changing” renewable Ecodan air source heat pumps. Where possible, recycled resources have been used in the construction of every property, in addition to locally sourced materials fitted by local expert tradesmen.

The substantial, contemporary homes are set on generous plots, with six different designs available. Already, buyers from the local area and as far away as Oxford and Bath have secured one of the properties. With a Standard Assessment Procedure (SAP) rating of 92-98%, the homes are very close to zero-cost energy.

Co-foundersof eggHomes, Chris Nelson, Ashley Reece and Matthew Eves are working directly with local governments to extend and re-open a trail way that currently culminates at the Viver Green boundary. They are also creating a community orchard within the site that will be managed and used by local charity Growing Well.

“As a local agent we are extremely excited by this project and are not at all surprised by the level of interest the initial marketing has created. There are currently no other developments in the area that offer homes of this premium quality and efficiency coupled with ingenious design, meaning these houses really do stand-out from the crowd,” says a spokesman for selling agent Thomson Hayton Winkley.

Prices range from £445,950 to over £800,000.
