Posted 30 March 2017 by Keith Osborne

The latest news on new developments, the latest show homes and special offers for homebuyers from across the new homes sector in the UK...

As the first quarter of the year reaches an end, there is plenty happening in the new homes sector, and here is a selection of this week’s launches, events and special deals for buyers…

New phase set for launch at Bristol development this weekend

A popular development from Barratt Homes on the northern outskirts of Bristol is unveiling a new phase to buyers in the South West on Saturday 1 April.

The new phase at Charlton Hayes will feature a collection of new house types, with three- and four-bedroom houses available including the ‘Barwick’, ‘Rochester’ and ‘Faversham’ models. Prices for the new range start at £284,995.

“We know there is great demand for homes in Bristol as a whole,” says sales director Andrea Pilgrim. “In fact, the city has been named in the top ten fastest-growing cities in the UK for 2017, according to the UK Powerhouse report. This is very evident here at Charlton Hayes. It’s been a hugely successful development so far, and our designers have worked very hard to come up with a brand new range of outstanding properties - each one displaying a mix of style and availability.”

This development is close to the M4 and M5 as well as Bristol Parkway station, with easy access into Bristol city centre.

Heritage apartments launch in south-east London

Water's EdgeWhatHouse? Award-winning developer Millgate has launched a new development of 13 one- and two-bedroom apartments at the conversion of a heritage home in Keston, near Bromley and Greater London’s border with Kent.

The Water’s Edge development is providing luxurious apartments from a Tudor manor house, which has a period façade and numerous period architectural features, and is approached by a gated driveway through its landscaped grounds. The apartments are spread over two buildings, called Forest Lodge and Alder House, with a two-bedroom duplex show home demonstrating to visitors the way that the carefully restored traditional elements are complemented by an interior specification that will impress 21st-century homebuyers.

Sales and marketing director for Millgate, Jonathan Cranley (who last week showed WhatHouse? around the company’s Knowle Hill Park development in Cobham, Surrey), says: “Downsizers in particular are often torn between the appeal of an interesting, character-filled older property and a desire to live in a luxurious, high-specification, low-maintenance home. Water’s Edge offers the best of both worlds, combining a feeling of history and grandeur, with versatile, beautifully presented modern interiors.”

Prices at Water’s Edge start from £495,000, and the show home is open Wednesday to Sunday, from 10.00am to 5.00pm.

Visitors to the site can look around the pair of professionally decorated homes, a luxurious four-bedroom semi-detached ‘Lancaster’ house and a three-bedroom ‘Oatlands’ detached property.
