New mixed-use scheme with 59 homes in Altrincham to commence this summer

A new mixed-use scheme featuring 59 one- and two-bedroom apartments in Altrincham town centre is due to start construction this summer, following the granting of planning permission.

The £70m scheme, called Altair, is on a 4.5-acre site and will feature a range of retail leisure units, above which Hillcrest Homes will be building their mix of apartments designed by Manchester architects Stephenson Studio. Completion is scheduled for December 2017.

The new homes will have German kitchens, a range of energy-efficient integrated appliances and Villeroy & Boch bathrooms. The developer Nikal promises “statement interiors” and each home will have a private balcony, with a communal roof terrace for all residents to share.

Altair will benefit from direct tram, rail and bus links at Altrincham’s transport interchange, accessed via a new public bridge, with convenient services into Trafford and the Greater Manchester area.

Off-plan sales at the development are expected to start this summer.
