New mixed-use scheme with 59 homes in Altrincham to commence this summer
A new mixed-use scheme featuring 59 one- and two-bedroom apartments in Altrincham town centre is due to start construction this summer, following the granting of planning permission.
The £70m scheme, called Altair, is on a 4.5-acre site and will feature a range of retail leisure units, above which Hillcrest Homes will be building their mix of apartments designed by Manchester architects Stephenson Studio. Completion is scheduled for December 2017.
The new homes will have German kitchens, a range of energy-efficient integrated appliances and Villeroy & Boch bathrooms. The developer Nikal promises “statement interiors” and each home will have a private balcony, with a communal roof terrace for all residents to share.
Altair will benefit from direct tram, rail and bus links at Altrincham’s transport interchange, accessed via a new public bridge, with convenient services into Trafford and the Greater Manchester area.
Off-plan sales at the development are expected to start this summer.
Managing director of Nikal, Nick Payne, says: “Altair is such an exciting new addition to our thriving modern market town; a premier town centre living quarter and a real community with high-quality but affordable homes where values will appreciate. The offering rivals the most fashionable new areas of Manchester, such as Spinningfields and the Northern Quarter. We’re providing stylish and sophisticated apartment living with a fantastic range of desirable amenities and attractions right on the doorstep, plus an excellent choice of transport links that places the whole of the North West within easy reach.
“Even better, we’re also offering the strong community spirit and diverse delights of Altrincham town centre - now firmly established as a hub for original and innovative independent enterprise and one of the very best destinations for ‘foodies’ in the whole of Greater Manchester!
“With all this, it’s no surprise that the level of interest from those looking to move to Altair is strong with a large number of people already registering for more information.”
