New homes plan in New Waltham given the thumbs up

Posted 7 June 2013 by Keith Osborne

Cyden Homes will almost certainly develop 20 new homes on a greenfield site in New Waltham, after plans for the new residential development on land off Peterson Drive was approved in principle by North East Lincolnshire's planning committee this week.

However, formal approval will reportedly not be issued until planning officers are satisfied that outstanding issues over drainage have been resolved. To-date, the Environment Agency feels that not enough information has been provided to demonstrate that the development will not increase the risk of flooding.

But with planning officers confident that a solution will soon be reached, it is only a matter of time until the proposed development gets the official go-ahead.

The new scheme, to be known as The Grange In The Woods, will be situated next to the existing Renaissance development originally designed by Chartdale Homes (now known as Cyden Homes).

The scheme will feature a mixture of two-, three-, four- and five-bedroom homes set around two cul-de-sacs and an area of landscaped open space.

Simon Dyson, managing director of Cyden Homes, told the press: "While we're aware that there have been several contentious applications in the area recently this land is a logical extension to an existing development and will secure much-needed employment in the area.

"The high quality design, specification and finish of our homes will absolutely suit this location and as a company, we pride ourselves on working with local sub-contractors and local suppliers wherever we can."
