New collection of apartments in West Drayton adds to Crossrail residential appeal

Keith OsborneThis weekend (Saturday 22 October), Redrow Homes is launching a new development of apartments in West Drayton, a part of west London currently undergoing a surge in new homes construction ahead of the opening of Crossrail/the Elizabeth Line in 2018/19.
Padcroft is likely to especially appeal to those wanting easy access to the improvement cross-capital rail link, as it is on a 2.5 acre site just opposite the station, also next to the Grand Union Canal, giving some of the homes waterside views.
The development will comprise 262 residential units alongside a small business centre, public piazza and car parking. Buyers can choose between studios and a mix of one-, two- and three-bedroom apartments, with prices initially starting £315,000, and it expected that interest will be keen from owner-occupier purchasers and buy-to-let investors.
Purchasers can expect a high-quality specification with engineered oak flooring, underfloor heating, fitted kitchens and integrated appliances from Smeg, and chic bathrooms. Buyers also get 25-year membership of a local car club.
Tina Dedman, divisional sales director at Redrow, says: “Following significant investment in the locality, with hundreds of new homes being built and new shops opening on the high street, West Drayton is now considered one of the most desirable property hot spots within the London Borough of Hillingdon. With local agents expecting a continued increase in the capital value of properties sold off-plan, we believe that the high demand for new build property in the area will continue.”
Crossrail is not West Drayton’s only transport jewel – this part of the London Borough of Hillingdon is well connected already, with rail links to Paddington and out along the Thames Valley to Reading and beyond. It is also close to the M4 and M25, and Heathrow Airport. Crossrail will bring central London under half-an-hour away, and bring Canary Wharf within reach in under 40 minutes.
Director of local estate agency Cameron Group, Nicholas Jordan, adds: “The property market in West Drayton has been rising steadily over the last two years. I anticipate that prices may well continue to increase in value for the foreseeable future as the completion date for Crossrail gets closer.”
