Move into an award-winning new home by Christmas, says Lovell

Price reductions on the final few homes makes living at a WhatHouse? Award-winning Costwolds development even more affordable...

Lovell Homes has announced a series of price reductions and the chance for house-hunters in the South West of England to move into its award-winning The Paddocks and Old Common Mews development before the Christmas holidays.

There are still a handful of homes for sale at the development in the hilltop market town of Minchinhampton, which won Bronze at last year’s WhatHouse? Awards in the Best Partnership Scheme category for Lovell and Stroud District Council, but these will be the last opportunities to live at the Cotswolds scheme.

“These impressive properties would be perfect for anyone looking for a brand-new countryside home designed and built to the highest standards,” says Michelle Barnsley of Lovell.

One of the properties for sale is the development’s show house, an ‘Ilford’ four-bedroom detached house that comes with all flooring, curtains and light fittings and has had over £30,000 taken from its previous price, bringing it to £399,950. This includes a fully fitted kitchen with a range of built-in appliances and fitted wardrobes to the master bedroom. For a little more, a buyer can also acquire the stylish furniture used in the house.

There have also been reductions of £20,000 in price to two more four-bedroom detached homes, with the ‘Pickford’ and ‘Rainford’ property types now at £435,000.

“This is an outstanding development featuring homes of the highest quality in an idyllic Cotswolds location, surrounded by beautiful countryside,” says Barnsley. “Our latest offers give buyers the opportunity to secure a stunning property at a highly attractive price - and be moved in ready to enjoy Christmas in their new home.”

Furthermore, purchasers can bring the up-front price of these brand new homes down even further with the Help to Buy scheme. With this scheme, the buyer provides a 5% deposit which is then supplemented by a 20% equity loan from the government, leaving the buyer to find a mortgage for just 75% of the purchase price. The loan is interest-free for five years and only needs to be paid back at the end of the mortgage period or when the property is sold. So the £399,950 price of the ‘Ilford’ comes down to £319,960 under Help to Buy, with the government providing the difference.

Situated in the Cotswold Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, Minchinhampton is positioned between two valleys, has a collection of 17th- and 18th-century buildings and is surrounded by glorious countryside and common land, the latter famously roamed freely by horses and cattle. The town is just over three miles from Stroud and under ten miles from Cirencester.
