L&Q launches new apartments in Elephant & Castle this weekend

Posted 30 March 2016 by Keith Osborne

New apartments are coming to market on 2 April, with a range of property sizes to suit homebuyers looking for a home in vibrant Elephant & Castle...

WhatHouse? Housing Association of the Year L&Q is releasing the final apartments of its Albany Place development in Elephant and Castle this weekend, as it unveils Harvard Gardens to London homebuyers.

A selection of apartments and duplexes will be available from Saturday 2 April, combining an excellent location with contemporary architecture and high-quality interior specification.

Elephant & Castle is one of London’s fastest-changing neighbourhoods, with a new traffic and pedestrian scheme underway to accommodate London workers and a growing number of residents, set to inhabit an array of developments under construction in this long-neglected part of travel zone 1.

Harvard Gardens will provide a total of 71 properties for private sale, with one-, two-, three- and four-bedroom layouts to suit a range of buyers. Common to all, however, are open-plan living areas, fully fitted kitchens, generously sized bedrooms, modern bathrooms and a private balcony or patio.

Cathy Lloyd, sales and marketing director at L&Q, says: “With its two earlier phases now sold out, Albany Place has established itself as one of the most vibrant and well serviced new communities in central South London. Harvard Gardens represents the final opportunity to buy a home in this award-winning development and is ideally located for all that London has to offer. The homes are incredibly accessible and have superb zone one travel connections. As one of the capital’s up and coming hot spots, the future certainly looks bright for Elephant and Castle.”

Residents will have use of central landscaped courtyard gardens and the green open spaces of nearby Burgess Park, Southwark’s largest, which has benefitted from an £8m facelift and renewal of amenities such as sporting facilities, a children’s adventure playground and café.

Elephant & Castle is the hub of central south London’s travel network, with Northern and Bakerloo line Tube and National Rail links around London and as far as Bedford and Brighton direct. There are numerous bus routes within a few minutes’ walk.

Prices at the Elliot Apartments at Harvard Gardens start at:

  • £450,000 for a one-bedroom property
  • £560,000 for a two-bedroom apartment
  • £950,000 for a four-bedroom duplex
