Homebuyers looking for a new build in the Cumbrian county town are invited to the Parkside development this Saturday for free advice on the government scheme...

Housebuilder Lovell is set to welcome house-hunters to its Parkside development in Carlisle this Saturday 27 February from 10.00am to 5.00pm for a special event promoting the benefits of the Help to Buy scheme.

Saving for a deposit is one of the hardest parts of the homebuying process, which is why the government-backed Help to Buy initiative has proved so popular, with over 130,000 homebuyers taking advantage of the scheme’s requirement of a deposit of just 5%.

At Parkside, this means that a brand new home can be purchased with a down payment of just £5,300. The event will bring together the Lovell team and some independent financial advisers who can give visitors to the site one-to-one help on the best way to pay for a new Lovell home with the Help to Buy shared equity option, where the government provides a 20% equity loan and the buyer needs a mortgage of 75%.

Parkside has a range of two- and three-bedroom homes, ideal for first-time buyers, homeowners moving up the property ladder and downsizers looking to move from a bigger property. Prices start from £105,995.

Clare Noakes, regional sales manager for Lovell in the North West, says: “Traversing the homebuying process can be daunting, particularly if you’re buying your first home. Our Help to Buy event at Parkside, Carlisle is a great opportunity to get some free and independent advice. Even if you’re not in the market for a new home immediately, everyone is welcome to visit and find out more.

“A new build is a perfect choice for first-time buyers, because it means they can simply get on with enjoying their home as soon as they move in with no DIY to do. All of their appliances are included and, with energy saving measures in place, new homeowners can save on their fuel bills too.”
