First phase of new waterfront homes in Southampton to be released this weekend

Posted 5 October 2016 by Keith Osborne

A range of 54 apartments is to be launched, the first of four phases of new homes to form a new development on the banks of the River Itchen...

Homebuyers and investors in the Southampton area will be ready to discover the first details of a brand new development in the city this weekend, when developer Inland Homes unveils the first phase of Meridian Waterside on Saturday 8 October.

The first release comprises 54 homes, and buyers will be able to secure the unit they want at the event at St Mary’s Stadium, the home of Southampton Football Club, from 10.00am to 4.00pm.

The Meridian Waterside development is located on the site of the former Meridian television and will eventually see the construction of 350 homes, to be released in four phases. There will be a choice of one-, two- and three-bedroom homes, with courtyard gardens and a new riverside walk along the Itchen. They are expected to be of interest to a wide range of homebuyers and buy-to-let investors.

Some buyers may already have seen broad plans for the area, as Inland Homes was at the Southampton Boat Show, demonstrating how the redeveloped riverside would look.

Vicki Noon, sales and marketing director for Inland Homes, says:  “There is great excitement surrounding the launch of this striking new development and we are expecting the launch event to be very busy. Security at the football stadium is tight and we encourage buyers to register with us in advance of the event so that they have the best chance of securing the property they want.”

Inland Homes is also creating other new homes in Southampton at Chapel Riverside, a project in partnership with Southampton City Council to regenerate a former depot. Both schemes form part of a long-term riverfront regeneration by the council, one of seven VIPS (Very Important Projects) in the council’s city masterplan.
