Ben SalisburyAfter renting for two years whilst trying to find their ideal home, the search is now over for David and Linda Diprose who have bought a brand new property at Taylor Wimpey’s Thame Park development in Oxfordshire.
The couple, who were renting a four bedroom house in Long Crendon, moved into their stunning three bedroom detached home in March this year.
David said: “The staff at Taylor Wimpey have been extremely pleasant and helpful going through everything with us.
“The team were particularly helpful when making enquiries about applying the Armed Forces Discount to our purchase, which is a great scheme to have in place with the RAF station based nearby in High Wycombe.”
Before he retired, David spent 25 years serving for the RAF, so Taylor Wimpey extended its Armed Forces Discount to the couple when they purchased their new home.
The Armed Forces Discount entitles eligible service personnel to receive a discount of up to £5,000 off the price of their perfect property.
“We chose the ‘Yewdale’ house type as it suits all of our needs,” continues David. “The house is well laid out and has a lovely big garden for our grandsons James and Thomas to play in, plus we have a large detached garage which provides us with lots of extra storage space.
“As we’re both retired we wanted to downsize. Before we rented in Long Crendon we owned a five bedroom home in Cirencester, as we were helping to care for Linda’s mother until she passed away, so after that we relocated closer to our eldest son John.
“We rented for around two and a half years while we were house hunting and looked at lots of different developments nearby for quite some time. When we visited Thame Park we were really happy with how spacious the development is – it’s exactly what we were looking for.”
There’s a choice of five and six bedroom designs priced from £975,000 available to purchase at Thame Park. Homeowners benefit from a beautiful and well-connected location boasting magnificent views across the beautiful Oxfordshire countryside.
A short distance away from the development lies the stunning historic market town of Thame, home to a wealth of award-winning and unique shops and places to eat and drink. A market is held every Tuesday, including a monthly farmers’ market. In addition to doctors’ and dental surgeries, Thame has a large leisure centre and a modern library and there is a good range of schools for all ages nearby.
For commuters, the development is within close proximity of the M40, while Haddenham and Thame Parkway railway station provides direct services to London Marylebone, Birmingham, Banbury and Bicester. From Thame, there are regular bus services to Oxford, Aylesbury and High Wycombe and to surrounding villages.
