One-to-one interview: Kalina Boyadjiew of Reignwood Investments

Marc Da Silva continues his weekly series of interviews with senior figures in the UK new homes industry by speaking to Kalina Boyadjiew, the vice president of sales and marketing at Reignwood Investments Ltd’s UK office, who is currently working on the impressive development of Ten Trinity Square in London.

Please tell us about the Ten Trinity Square project

Ten Trinity Square is a Grade II listed property that lies a stone’s throw from the Tower of London and the Thames. The abundance of history and heritage that exists within the walls of Ten Trinity Square, and within its immediate surroundings, offers buyers a unique opportunity to purchase a piece of prime real estate embedded in London’s antique history.

It was once the Port of London Authority Building, and hence represented the most integral point of commercial and cultural exchange in the capital city. It was opened by the former Prime Minister David Lloyd George in 1922, and the beautiful building, designed in the beaux-arts style, was constructed by Edwardian architect, Sir Edwin Cooper. In 1946, it played host to the reception of the inaugural assembly of the United Nations in the fabulous ballroom, which still exists to this day.

What stage is Reignwood Investments currently at with the restoration of Ten Trinity Square?

The restoration of Ten Trinity Square is progressing well. However, due to the utmost diligence and sensitivity required when restoring a Grade II listed property, many elements of the development require more time to complete. The project is due to complete in the fourth quarter of 2016.

What will Ten Trinity Square look like once the restoration works are complete?

The sensitivity applied in the restoration of Ten Trinity Square has been paramount to Reignwood from the very start of the project.

The eye-catching beaux-arts style, which harks back to a historic time in architectural history, has been brought back to life at Ten Trinity Square. The building has retained as many original features as archaeologists and restorers have been able to save from the site.

Elsewhere, we have been fortunate to be able to call upon a collaboration of fantastic designers, including, Bruno Moinard and HBA Designers, who have created immaculate, fresh and truly welcoming interiors, which are a perfect reflection of the high calibre of living and hospitality Ten Trinity Square will provide its residents and hotel guests when completed.

Why was revival needed at Ten Trinity Square?

For years, Ten Trinity Square has been used for commercial use and an important London landmark. Reignwood felt it was important to revive the building to its former glory whilst also creating a destination for discerning investors, business and luxury travellers alike. The sensitive revival of Ten Trinity Square stems from the need for discerning buyers seeking a residential offering in one of the world’s economic hubs that is not available in any other part of London. As the world’s foremost financial hub, people are increasingly looking to the East of London for residential opportunities to support the economic infrastructure. How many new build homes is Reignwood Investments building at Ten Trinity Square?

Once completed, there will be 41 private residences at Ten Trinity Square ranging from one to five bedrooms. Owing to the heritage status and unparalleled location of the property, each apartment will have a unique layout and perspective.

What types of new homes will the scheme include?

Located across floors three to seven of the building, each residence will have an interior base-build by acclaimed designers, with the original neo-classical interiors complemented by sympathetic finishes. Measuring up to 9,078 sq ft, each residence will be accessed from a private entrance and once inside, homeowners will be treated to the full Four Seasons service, and the cache of owning spectacular views over the Thames.
