#GBBO - Richstone Properties' Langdale House inspires culinary creations

Posted 28 September 2016 by Ben Salisbury

Langdale House has not just one fantastic kitchen but two further ones, providing the ultimate incentive to cook the finest food and be inspired by #GBBO

A new 7 bedroom home by Richstone Properties has certainly proved itself to be a true ‘showstopper’ when launched onto the market just before the eighth week of the nation’s best loved programme, The Great British Bake Off.

Langdale House, in the highly desirable Roehampton area adjoining Richmond Park in Surrey offers a sensational 1000 sq ft of open plan kitchen, dining and family space, so plenty of room for onlookers when the new owners want to show off their own milles feuilles skills.

Even better for the summer weather, the vast kitchen space has direct access to the terrace and rear garden.

Cooking brings the whole family together, and nowhere quite as spectacularly as in their latest luxury home. With direct access to the large terrace and rear landscaped gardens, the Langdale House kitchen super room is just perfect for relaxed family living as well as large scale entertaining.

Featuring a stunning oversized granite island flanked with comfy bar stools  and lined with bespoke painted kitchen units with an extensive range of built-in Miele appliances, including their highly rated ovens and microwave, the ‘star baker’ of the household will really appreciate this well-thought out culinary centrepiece.

Underfloor heating, which extends throughout the house, and soothing music from the discreetly fitted ceiling Bowers and Wilkins speakers could be the icing on the cake. Once the dough has risen to perfection, the chef and guests could retire to the temperature controlled wine cellar to select and taste from their favourite vineyards.  After all, fine baking deserves a vintage accompaniment.

And if one kitchen just isn’t enough, Richstone have obligingly installed two more in Langdale House, a second catering kitchen designed for volume catering and a utility room, complete with oven, fridge and washer dryers as well as a compact kitchen in a rather grand separate self-contained granny/au pair apartment.

When 8 p.m. on Wednesday evening approaches, the weekly Bake Off can be viewed from the fully reclining seats in Langdale House’s state-of-the-art home cinema, featuring a 135” projection screen and Sony VPL projector, Blu-ray player and universal remote. Absolutely crumbtastic.

The local Roehampton neighbourhood has the rare combination of chic urban living surrounded by country style rural charm, with 2,500 acres of protected Royal Parkland on its doorstep, nearby Barnes Village offering both pretty gastro pubs, independent cafes, studio cinema and hotlist restaurants, whilst Richmond Town Centre, within a 10 minute drive, boasts two theatres, three cinemas, and excellent designer boutique shopping.

Langdale House is on the market for £7.5m through appointed agents Knight Frank telephone 020 8939 2800 www.richstone.co.uk
