Local area

Sketty is a popular area of Swansea thanks to its proximity to the seafront and wide variety of nearby parks. The development is close to the beautiful Gower Peninsula and the famous, picturesque fishing village of Mumbles. Less than a mile away is Singleton Park, the largest urban park in Swansea ' it's a nice spot for a walk through the botanical gardens, or to relax by the lake in summer. There are several community events held here throughout the year, including the annual Proms in the Park, where you can listen to orchestral classical music.

The town is a stunning mix of different architectural styles, from Victoria to Edwardian villas, and has several notable buildings. Visit St Paul's Church, St Benedict's Roman Catholic Church, Sketty Hall and Hendrefoelan, a Tudor-style stone mansion.

South of Sketty is the Derwen Fawr district where you can find a number of sporting facilities including a swimming pool, golf course and playing fields. In Swansea itself, you can visit the National Waterfront Museum, Oystermouth Castle, the Clyne Gardens and Swansea Bay.

You can really do as much or as little as you like in Sketty - whether it's enjoying walks along the stunning natural coastline or relaxing with a hearty, homecooked meal at one of Sketty's best kept secrets, Dilly's Kitchen - it's a great place to enjoy your retirement.
