We are pleased to announce that planning has been granted for our new development of Retirement Living apartments for over 60s in Bourton-on-the-Water.
Offering the same level of facilities and care you'd expect at all our sites here at McCarthy & Stone, our Bourton-on-the-Water site promises to offer beautiful retirement apartments in the heard of the Cotswolds.
Key dates for your diary
Construction is now under way, with sales release this summer followed by first occupations in Spring 2017.
A picturesque village with plenty to offer, Bourton-on-the-Water is the ideal place to spend your later years. The River Windrush passes through the village as a beautiful natural attraction and is even the site of a medieval football game held here every summer. The numerous bridges which cross it and the beautiful image they create have also contributed to the village's unofficial title of the 'Venice of the Cotswolds."
Local attractions of the area include a Model Village, Cotswold Motoring Museum, The Dragonfly Maze and Birdland Park and Gardens. There are plenty of footpaths for nature lovers to enjoy with the Heart of England Way (a 100 mile route) terminating in the village.
In terms of local amenities, a co-op shop can be found directly opposite the site with access to the local high street available in less than half a mile's walk. Here you'll find a great range of facilities including a local Post Office branch, chemist, bank, public library and plenty of shops. For fans of local produce, a farmer's market is held on the fourth Sunday of every month at the Country Wide Store.
There's also a doctor's surgery in the village centre and a local community hub, perfect for meeting new friends and socialising.
