The Homesteads is a new build development located off Front Street in Shotton Colliery, County Durham.
The development consists of 86 two, three and four bedroom homes with a mix of house types that are ideal for first time buyers, professionals and families.
Situated to the west of Peterlee, the former coal mining village of Shotton Colliery is located less than 10 minutes drive from Peterlee town centre and 20 minute drive from Durham City.
Location on the Durham Heritage Coast, and lying almost equivalent from Sunderland, Hartlepool and Durham, Peterlee was one of the new towns created in Britain after the Second World War. It is named after the celebrated Durham miners leader, Peter Lee, and was built to provide housing for many of the coal miners working in the nearby pits and their families.
Shotton Colliery benefits from redevelopment in recent years including the construction of a new bus station in Peterlee as well as the refurbishment of the main shopping destination, since renamed the Castle Dene Shopping Centre.
