Help to Buy properties in Buckinghamshire

Buckinghamshire is a county that, as a whole, could be described as the perfect blend of town and country. In addition to its own mix of places such as the vibrant town of Milton Keynes and the beautiful Chiltern Hills, it also has excellent transport links into the heart of London. The county has a population of approximately just over 750,000 and apart from Milton Keynes, the principal towns are High Wycombe, Amersham, Marlow, Buckingham, Princes Risborough and the county town of Aylesbury.

In terms of property in general, Buckinghamshire has relatively high prices compared to elsewhere in the country. Yet, new homes are being built right across Buckinghamshire. One place that's typical of many is Buckingham that has attracted a lot of interest from housebuilders such as Barratt Homes and Lagan Homes. 20 miles from Oxford and 50 miles from London, this thriving market town has new homes available, some at lower prices than you might expect. The only downside to this particular town is that the nearest train station is at Milton Keynes which is around twenty minutes away by road.

Over one third of Buckinghamshire is covered by the Chilterns Area of Outstanding Beauty. Yet, it's also home to one of the most popular commuter towns in the South East, Milton Keynes. One of the very frequent trains to London Euston only takes 35 minutes. The town itself has everything you could possibly want in regards to amenities. It has a huge shopping area with one shopping mall alone having three miles of shopfronts and 230 stores. Major companies have moved here including Argos, Mercedes and BP, providing plenty of employment opportunities. There is also every type of housing in Milton Keynes at much more affordable prices than London. From starter homes to retirement homes and everything in between, you'll find it here. David Wilson Homes and Barratt Homes are two housebuilders busy in the town with Brooklands an area in particular that has some stunning properties on offer.

As for schools, Buckinghamshire is thought, collectively, to have the strongest performing schools in the whole of the UK. The area is also particularly strong for independent private schools. Buckinghamshire has a good network of roads with the M1, M40 and M25 close by and you also have a choice of airports near to the county including Heathrow, Stanstead and Luton. With the county being between Birmingham and London, the rail network has frequent and fast trains both north and south. Crossrail will also have an effect on the county with Iver, for example, one town newly connected by the forthcoming rail network.
