Word-of-mouth recommendations translate into successful sales for Bloor

Posted 22 April 2014 by Keith Osborne

When grandparents John and Julie Hall moved into Bloor Homes' Hinckley Park development in Leicestershire, they had no idea they would trigger off a string of sales for the housebuilder.

Having previously lived in a Bloor home on the edge of the town of Hinckley, John and Julie Hall wanted to move closer to the centre, and they were delighted when they heard about the housebuilder's new development, Hinckley Park. They took advantage of the part exchange scheme to help them move in to their new home in just three weeks.

"The location was key to our move here," says John. "There's a park just opposite where we take our cocker spaniel Dexter, and we are just a short walk into town. After living in a brand new home we will most likely never live in a second-hand property again - we like having a home that is made for us and are enjoying the modern kitchen and bathroom fittings."

Not long after the Halls had settled in to their new home, their daughter Emma, husband Darren, and twin daughters Harriet and Emilia also moved to Hinckley Park in order to live close by.

"After Emma's parents moved to Hinckley Park, we were familiar with the development and started to imagine what life would be like if we made the move there as well," says Darren, a sales manager in Northampton. "One Saturday, when we couldn't get the little ones to sleep, we took them for a drive to Hinckley, and ended up taking a little trip around the development. After that visit we were very keen, and took another visit to the show home that very weekend.

"The ‘Berrington' house type was definitely what Emma and I longed for - this large four-bedroom house was ideal for our growing family so we had to have it."

Emma is now within easy walking distance of her job at a local travel agent; the family live much closer to the catchment of St Peters school for the twins' future; and with grandparents as their neighbours there is always plenty of help at hand.

Finally, Dale and Karis Rowe, previous neighbours and close friends of Emma and Darren, have also moved to the development - upsizing from a three-bedroom to a brand new four-bedroom property as they look forward to the birth of their first child.

"Living next door to our close friends for four years was great; we were both living on the outskirts of Hinckley and grew close over the years," explains Dale, a regional sales manager. "Back in August 2013 we found out we were expecting a baby, and were undecided whether moving to a larger property was the right time. When I found out our friends were moving to the new Bloor Homes development, it gave us the confidence we needed to move too."

Hinckley has a good range of local amenities, including a busy high street and a popular market, and also benefits from good rail and road links, with easy access to the M69 for fast links to the M6 and the M1.

Four-bedroom properties at Hinckley Park are priced from £245,000, and five-bedroom homes from £325,000. Offers available there include part exchange and the government-backed Help to Buy scheme.
