Top marks for The Green at Horsforth Vale

Having settled into their new home, the 36-year-old mum has given Redrow Homes an A* grade.

“We weren't looking to move or buy when we did but I drove past by chance and decided to have a look,” says Rachel. “My husband Steven and I already had family in Horsforth and we really liked the development.”

Rachel and Steven, 40, bought a Kenilworth style semi home for themselves and son, Charlie, two. And, now a baby daughter is on the way, it has turned out to be the perfect family home. Rachel, who is expecting a little girl in July, says: “We had previously lived in a flat but it's lovely now to have a real family home.

“The Kenilworth was definitely for us because of the top floor bedroom, it was the perfect 'escape' space just for us and having two bathrooms means it's nice to have one for ourselves that isn't filled with rubber ducks and where you don't have to hide everything away.

“We love the open plan kitchen and dining area where we can all be together and the garden is big enough to play in – the boys regularly kick a ball around – but it's not too big to mow.”

The couple, who met as trainee teachers, had bought a brand new home previously but on the last occasion had been less than impressed.

“But we asked around about Redrow and lots of people recommended them.  They certainly offered value for money and everyone commented on the high specification and finish and that has been proven to be true. The finish is faultless,” Rachel smiles.

“Moving house is a stressful business but Redrow made everything as smooth as it could possibly be, they were so good and we just love our house and where it is. We love walking and we can walk into Horsforth, and it's by the canal which is lovely. I am so glad we moved.”
