Taylor Wimpey’s Coast development moves into the Premier League
The Mancunian businessman has been involved with the Cherries for the past 10 years, playing a key role in their fairytale journey to football’s top flight, but the club’s rise to the Premier League at the end of last season came with more than its fair share of ups and downs along the way.
So, finding a peaceful retreat in his adopted town to return to after the trials and tribulations of match day has been on Jeff’s mind for a while – and he’s found the perfect place at Taylor Wimpey’s Coast development, which occupies an iconic cliff top location on Bournemouth’s skyline.
Jeff says: “As chairman of the football club, I felt at some stage I would like to become a member of the local community, as my wife Rose and I currently live outside Bournemouth, so we started looking at a number of developments in the town.
“We didn’t have to think too long before committing ourselves to an apartment at Coast. The development occupies the most magnificent location and once we’d gone on the roof area and seen the amazing view of the coastline we felt there was probably no better place in Bournemouth to buy a home.
“Structurally it looks superb and the quality of the interior finish is also first class. From the moment we walked into the show room, I’ve been so impressed by the whole experience with Taylor Wimpey.”
Coast forms part of the wider regeneration of the surrounding area in Bournemouth and this was also a significant attraction for Jeff.
“With the regeneration taking place in this part of Bournemouth, you can see it’s really going to be the entertainment centre of the town and will be for many years to come,” he explains.
“It’s right next to Bournemouth International Centre and there’s over £50m being spent on the West Central leisure complex, which includes a new cinema and 14 new restaurants, plus a brand new Hilton Hotel nearby.”
Jeff and Rose are looking forward to spending the weekends at their new apartment when it’s completed, hopefully in about 12 months’ time. They’ve chosen an ocean view apartment which boasts a stunning open-plan kitchen/living/dining room with a private balcony and full-height windows providing uninterrupted views of the sea.
“We’re really excited about getting in there,” says Jeff. “At the moment it’s going to be somewhere for us to come for the weekend, in particular on match day.
“With the stresses associated with any games, especially in the Premier League, we both feel it would be really nice to travel just a mile or so down the road from the stadium and spend the rest of the weekend in a really relaxing environment.
“It’s always hard buying off-plan rather than seeing the completed apartment or house, but we were very impressed with the way the staff were able to paint a really realistic picture of what the finished apartment will be,” he explains.
As well as having the beach on the doorstep, the new homes are just a five-minute stroll from the cosmopolitan town centre which offers a wealth of shops as well as an exceptional range of entertainment and leisure facilities.
From department stores and high street retailers to independent shops and vintage boutiques, Bournemouth’s shopping district has something to suit everyone.
There’s a great choice of cafés, coffee shops, restaurants and pubs nearby too, while live entertainment is hosted regularly at both the Bournemouth International Centre (BIC) and the Pavilion Theatre and Ballroom in the town.
Commuters will appreciate the close proximity of the A35 for quick and easy links to Poole, and the A338 for Ringwood and Salisbury, while regular bus services provide access to all parts of Bournemouth. The train station is also within walking distance, offering direct services to Poole, Weymouth and London.
