Friends and family follow couple in buying new homes at Bryn Celyn

Posted 12 March 2014 by Keith Osborne

A young couple's satisfaction with their brand new Lovell home in South Wales has persuaded both family and friends to follow in their footsteps and reserve homes at the development.

Last year district nurse Megan Evans, 23, and her 27-year-old fiancé Alex Maurice, bought a three-bedroom house at Bryn Celyn, which is situated in the village of Llanharry, between Pontyclun and Cowbridge. After moving in they were so happy with their decision that they convinced Megan's brother to buy a new home at the same development. And Megan's recommendation also helped to persuade one of her work colleagues and two other sets of friends to buy homes at Bryn Celyn.

A major selling point for Megan and Alex was the development's convenient location - within easy striking distance of the Welsh capital, Cardiff, as well as the lovely town of Cowbridge and the surrounding Vale of Glamorgan.

Bryn Celyn also offers a variety of house styles to suit homebuyers' differing tastes and needs, with three-bedroom homes priced from £172,995, and four-bedroom homes from £259,995.

"It's lovely here and so friendly with a lot of people of a similar age," explains Megan. "I've made a lot of friends and we all socialise together. My brother and his partner are expecting a baby and I thought they would love it here, especially with a young family, so I strongly encouraged him to think about buying a house.

"When I was moving, I told my work colleague Adrianne Smith about the development and she and her partner James Lees moved in here too, and I've also recommended Bryn Celyn to two other sets of friends looking for houses." Adrianne was so impressed that she has also recommended the development to one of her own friends who has now moved in.

The Welsh government-funded Help to Buy Wales scheme is available on selected properties at Bryn Celyn, giving homebuyers the chance to take advantage of a shared equity loan of up to 20% of the purchase price. The loan is interest-free for five years and buyers only need a deposit of 5% of the purchase price. Further information about the scheme is available here.

Interested house-hunters can visit the show homes at Bryn Celyn from 11.00am to 5.00pm on Monday and from 10.00am to 5.00pm from Tuesday to Sunday, or call the Lovell team on 0845 388 5224 for further details.
