Ben SalisburyAndrew Price, 33, a public house and restaurant manager, and wife Gemma, 32, a beauty therapist, moved into their new home at Ashberry Homes popular Woodhurst development in Ibstock, Leicestershire earlier this year with their two young children, and are looking forward to starting a new chapter.
Andrew said: “We chose an Ashberry home through the recommendation of a family member who had previously purchased close by, and we’ve been thrilled with the service and standard of our new home.
“We reserved in the very early stages of the build, so were able to choose a number of our preferred interior features and fittings. We decided on an upgraded package for our kitchen and added more lights there too. We also added a number of extra sockets throughout the house, and chose our flooring throughout the house. Picking these things really helped the house to feel more like our home.
“Unsurprisingly one of our favourite areas of the house is the kitchen-diner. It’s the hub of our home and we spend most of our time as a family there.”
The family’s main motivation for moving was upsizing to a larger home, and the couple were pleasantly surprised at the size of house available to them once they decided to use the government-backed Help to Buy scheme.
Help to Buy, available to both first-time buyers and existing home owners, requires just a 5% deposit on a new home up to the value of £600,000 in England, and provides buyers with a five-year interest-free government equity loan of 20%.
“The process was relatively simple,” Andrew continued. “There was a small amount of additional paperwork to complete during the mortgage process but nothing too strenuous. We’re really pleased with how smoothly it all went.
“From the initial meet and greet, right through to completion, the demo and actually moving in has been second to none. Visiting friends and family always comment on how much they like our new house.
“We would definitely recommend Ashberry Homes and Woodhurst to friends, family and others thinking of moving to the area. It’s a lovely place to live.”
A select number of homes remain are available at Woodhurst, including a number of three, four and five-bedroom properties.
