Being able to put their own stamp on a new build home and direct access to the National Cycle Network attracted the Kelly's to Barratt Homes Swallow Fields'

A love of cycling has helped a family find their ideal new home in Hemel Hempstead located near a direct link to the National Cycle Network.

Derek Kelly, 48 and his wife Malgorzata, 37, keen cyclists and walkers, along with their children Amelia, 8 and Maja, 6 have recently moved into Barratt Homes Swallow Fields development at Three Cherry Trees Lane, Hemel Hempstead.

The direct connection to the National Cycle Network through Nickey Line puts the development within reach of the Hertfordshire countryside and easy access to miles of beautiful off road cycle paths.

The Kelly family moved into a Hexham style home. The four bedroom semi-detached property features an open plan kitchen with a light and airy dining area and a spacious dual aspect lounge with a glazed bay leading to the garden.

The first floor offers a master bedroom with an ensuite, a second double bedroom and a family bathroom, while the second floor offers a further two bedrooms with a dual access shower room.

Derek said “The house is so airy and really light, it has 17 windows! The layout is excellent; it offers fantastic top floor arrangements for Maja and Amelia.”

The ability to personalise their new build home is what attracted the family to buying with Barratt Homes.

Derek continued “We can put our own stamp on it since no-one has lived here before us. It was a fantastic feeling for us as a family, from watching our home being built to getting a key.”

Swallow Fields has both rolling countryside and the Hemel Hempstead town centre within close reach, and London Euston can be reached in just 30 minutes. The development has green open spaces, and a community is already being formed as residents move into their new homes.

Derek said “The location is great, it’s close to the M1 and airport with shops nearby as well. The best aspect of the location is that we can get to Nickey Line so easily as we love to walk and cycle. It also means we can get to St Albans, Harpenden or Redbourn to reward ourselves with a slice of cake in one of the independent cafes.”

When asked about the process of buying with Barratt Homes, Derek said ““We couldn’t have made a better choice. The sales team were absolutely amazing right from the beginning. The purchase was smooth, straightforward and quick with just 28 days between reservation and exchanging.”

Glenn Copper, Head of Sales at Barratt Homes North Thames commented: “I am delighted that we were able to help the Kelly family have a smooth move into their new home. Swallow Fields’ proximity to Nickey Line means the Hertfordshire countryside is at your doorstep.”

The next phase of homes is being built at Swallow Fields, ready for new residents to move into over the next few months.  For more information, or to register your interest in a home at Swallow Fields, call the sales information line on 0844 811 7171 or visit Barratt Home page.
