A new home and a new career with Barratt

Posted 8 September 2016 by Helen Christie

A homebuyer was so impressed by the service she received when purchasing a new home from Barratt Homes using the government’s Help to Buy scheme that she joined the company as a sales adviser…

Jo Leslie, who has just started working at the company’s Yarnfield Park development in Yarnfield, near Stone, visited the Mercury Place development in Wolverhampton with her boyfriend Matthew Pollard, to view the show homes in their search for their first property.

Eventually selecting a three-bedroom Morpeth style home, which has plenty of room for her, Matthew and their English Bulldog Coby, Joanne also made up her mind to apply for a job with the company, after experiencing their customer service first hand.

“We were talked through the whole process, and the Help to Buy scheme was explained to us in detail by the sales advisers, who were really welcoming and knowledgeable,” explains Jo, 26. “It was then that I started thinking that Barratt Homes might be a good company to work for.

“I received my job offer on the same day Matthew and I became the owners of our new home at Mercury,” Jo continues. “We’re settling in really well, and my experience as a homebuyer has really helped with the job, as it gives me an understanding of what customers are looking for, and how best to deliver it.”

Graydon Worthing, director of sales for Barratt Homes West Midlands, says: “It’s always great to hear that a customer has had an exceptionally good purchasing experience, but for a customer to apply to join our team as a result is even better!

“We were very impressed with Jo’s enthusiasm for our product and brand. With her passion for the role and eagerness to learn the trade, plus her obvious approval for our quality homes, she is already proving to be a fantastic asset to the company.”

Homebuyers looking for a peaceful rural setting, with easy access to a nearby market town and major road links, should consider Barratt Homes’ new development at Yarnfield Park on Yarnfield Lane.

The mix of three- and four-bedroom homes currently available at Yarnfield Park are priced from £169,950 to £329,950, and the Sales Centre is open Monday 12:30pm - 5:30pm and Thursday to Sunday 10am - 5:30pm.
